Tiny In Toronto

Hey everybody! I don’t know about you but once May 20th (the start of Gemini season) arrived, I’ve been in a way better mood! I know it’s probably all in my head but I think because I’m a Gemini, I’ve been in really high spirits! My birthday just passed and although I wasn’t able to celebrate it like I normally would, I’m still grateful to be one year older. Let me know if any of you guys are also Geminis!

In today’s post I’ll be sharing with you another outfit. I’m going to be honest and say that if I had a personal uniform, overalls would be it. I don’t think I could feel any more “me” than in any form of overalls. These short overalls are no exception. I got these from… can you guess it?

When wearing overalls, there really isn’t much to it. I think the overalls speak for themselves and therefore there isn’t really much you need to do when styling them. I styled this pair with a cute lilac cardigan that I thrifted. Underneath I just wore a white ribbed tank top because it’s more appropriate than wearing just your bra ha-ha. My favourite part of wearing overalls is all the accessories that you can wear with them! I think they go with anything. They’re just a good canvas to experiment with colourful necklaces, earrings, hats, shoes, neck scarves, etc. The accessories that I chose for this outfit were my colourful beaded necklace that I made myself, my gold rope chain necklace from Durumi (@thedurumi), my Free People sunnies, these sparkly heart earrings from Joe Fresh, and my cute little gingham bag from TOPSHOP. For shoes, I thought my colour-blocked New Balance sneakers that my boyfriend got me for Christmas last year were perfect. I also wore some white tube socks because I’m really into the look of them right now (even though I’m expecting to have a really outrageous sock tan afterwards lol).

And that’s my outfit! I hope you guys like it! If you don’t own a pair of overalls or have a pair but you are too afraid that you can’t pull them off, you need to just wear them! I really think overalls are pretty fool proof. I think they’re spunky and cool, and so comfortable!

*** I also want to quickly add that this post was meant to be published a few weeks ago but with everything going on in our world today, especially the Black Lives Matter movement, I felt like I’d be disrespecting way more important issues. That being said, this isn’t a race, it’s a marathon and we’ve only just begun. We need to keep listening, learning, and fighting for justice. I’ve been reading and educating myself a lot this month so if you’d like a post on books to read and ways to get involved, please let me know!
