OOTD: Orange Creamsicle #TBT

Why, hello there! Did y’all think I disappeared? I feel like I basically did disappear for a bit there. And if we want to be exact, I have not uploaded a new blog post since June 26th. That’s like… A MONTH AGO?! I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. So much has happened and I’ll try my best to update y’all on most of it but honestly, the last month now seems like a blur.

Okay so, the last blog post was my birthday post and it was even a late birthday post. As of June 16th, I was back at work full-time. The adjustment (like I’ve said before) is hard. It’s still hard. I’ve mentioned a few times now that I just don’t have the stamina anymore. I mean, I’m sure it’ll come back but it’s been a month and the struggle is still real. I get SO TIRED when I work even 3 days in a row. It’s really quite sad. So yeah, work’s been hard. It’s been taking a lot out of me because with the commute I leave my place at 9AM and get home at 8PM. They’re long days that I haven’t done in over a year.

Now on top of everything, I have Never Skip a Bead. I do still plan on writing a proper introduction to our small business/brand but I want it to be some of my best writing, and my head just hasn’t been there. I don’t want to ramble like I probably am today. My head has just been drained for days on end. Never Skip a Bead is doing great though! I wish I could devote more time towards it but I need a more steady income, so I have to keep my retail job at Free People. I gotta make it work even though balancing two jobs is a lot. All I keep telling myself is that one day it will all be worth it.

I know you didn’t come here to read about my problems. Come to think of it, I’m probably making y’all stressed and I don’t mean to! I just want you to know that I’ve been very busy and in order to stay sane, I’ve had to cut back on a few things and that included blogging (unfortunately). But I’m back now! I can’t say that we’re going to be back to two posts a week but I want to try for maybe one day a week? We’ll see! I’m going to stop talking about this stuff now and get to my outfit/the reason you clicked on this blog post to begin with.

Orange creamsicles. I have not had one in ages! Did you ever have them growing up? As I’m writing this, I am making a promise to myself that I have to get a (small) box of them the next time I go grocery shopping! So nostalgic! This outfit made me think of them. The whites, peachy-pinks and oranges just scream, “An orange creamsicle in the summer!” The oversized top that I’m wearing is something I’ve worn before. I swear it’s been featured on the blog before but it could have been over a year ago. It’s a thrifted short-sleeved button up (or down?) from Talize. My boyfriend and I thrifted it. The great thing about thrifting with him is that if it doesn’t work out for him, I can wear it! Of course they’re usually pretty big on me, but I think it still works! Underneath my boyfriend’s thrifted top, I wore a simple white ribbed tank top from Free People. I don’t know if I’ve shared this with you but I have an obsession with white tank tops. You can’t go wrong with a white tank top in the summer, my friends. It’s honestly one of my wardrobe staples during this time of year. They go with everything and I’m never too hot. They’re just an all-around great layering piece for the spring/summer. They’re like winter’s black turtleneck. You know what I mean? Long story short, I have lots of these and you’ll probably see me wearing a lot of white tank tops in future outfit posts.

The shorts I’m wearing in these photos are boxers. But I think they’re boxers that are appropriate for the public? I mean, would you think they’re boxers if I hadn’t told you? They’re super breezy. Toronto has been so hot lately. I can’t have anything really touching me in this heat. These shorts are from Free People (you probably could have guessed it tbh). We didn’t carry them in-store so I ordered them from our online website. If you’d like a pair (I highly recommend them!), click here: https://www.freepeople.com/shop/sunday-morning-boxer-shorts?color=065

For accessories, I obviously wore lots of Never Skip a Bead jewelry. If you wanna see the styles that we offer (we make everything to order and can customize something for you!), check out our Instagram: @neverskipabead! Everything that I’m wearing that is made out of beads is probably something I made myself. The other bits of jewelry are some of the staples that those of you that read my blog often will recognize. I’ve got my BonBonWhims ring, my Neon Afternoon ring, my VibeSzn necklace, an Envieux Jewelry necklace, Mejuri ring, and Tiffany bracelet! If you’re new here (welcome!!!), you’ll be surprised at how much jewelry I can manage to stack all over my body ha-ha. Life’s too short! Wear it all!

On my feet are these really comfy Birkenstocks that I can’t stop wearing. I ordered them online from Urban Outfitters forever ago. I swear it was in February or March. I guess it’s kind of weird to be wearing fluffy sandals during the summer but I’m honestly not even phased by it. My feet appreciate it (especially when I’m at work!) Last but not least: my new purse. I love it so much. I ordered it for myself for my birthday from JW PEI. It’s such a gorgeous/good quality bag for $100. I think it looks pretty expensive for what it is. I’m really enjoying it. I think it fits perfectly with this orange creamsicle vibe. Honestly, just overall a perfect bag and I totally recommend!

TANK – Free People
OVERSIZED BUTTON-DOWN – Thrifted from Talize
SHORTS/BOXERS – Free People
SANDALS – Birkenstock
BAG – JW PEI
JEWELRY – Never Skip a Bead, BonBonWhims, Neon Afternoon, Envieux Jewelry, VibeSzn, Mejuri & Tiffany

That’s everything for today! I hope I’ve got you all up to speed. I know it’s been a long time since my last blog post but as you can tell, you haven’t really missed much. I’ve been super busy and tired, and doing my best to enjoy summer before it ends! I have a week of vacation coming up next month and I need ideas on how to make the best of my time off. What have you been up to? What should my boyfriend and I plan for our fourth anniversary? It’s also his birthday that week so I need to think of something special but also not too crazy/reasonably priced ha-ha. Would love to hear some ideas in the comment section below!

Thank y’all for sticking with me! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

I hope you’re having the best summer!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤
