So earlier this week my boyfriend and I thought it would be a good idea to go for a walk in a blizzard. Despite having snow coming at us in all directions, it was fun! It turned out to be the best part of our day. In my last post I shared that he moved so we decided to take a walk and check out the neighbourhood. There are so many cute houses in his area! I hope that I can afford one of those houses some day.
Now people don’t normally dress this way in Canada. I’m just annoying and rather layer than wear an ugly winter coat. Seriously though, winter coats are just so bulky and there’s like zero dimension/nothing exciting to look at. It covers the entire outfit and it’s just not appealing to me! I will wear a winter coat when necessary but in this scenario, I low-key wanted some photos of my “look” ha-ha.
When it comes to layering outfits in the winter, I start with a basic under layer. It’s the bit that’s going to be seen the least, so it might as well be simple! In this case, I wore these Straight jeans from Topshop. I love the basic wash of these jeans – such a nice blue! On top, I wore a white shirt. This one is a white blouse from Free People. It’s in this gorgeous material that’s so soft. I love it. From here I just added the fun bits! I wanted lots of colour. I added this mustard yellow puffy vest that I recently got from Free People. I’m absolutely obsessed with it. It’s to the point where I will find any excuse to wear it. I’m guilty of even wearing it at home in my room, on my bed. It’s called the “Roll With Us Puffer Vest” and here’s a link to it if you’re interested: https://www.freepeople.com/shop/roll-with-us-puffer-vest?color=031
The last layer of this look is my reversible puffer coat/sleeping bag that my sister got me for Christmas a couple of years ago. It’s pink on one side and an olive green on the other. It’s also from Free People. I love how colourful it is! And I can’t get enough of the pink side (obviously).
For accessories, I made another beret! I had this gorgeous blue yarn laying around without a purpose, so I decided to make a hat out of it! It’s such a cute colour. Again, I just wanna wear it wherever I go! The shoes I’m wearing are these cherry Doc Martens that were returned to my Free People location (for those of you that don’t know, I work for Free People lol). I can never find a pair in a size 5 so I scooped these up IMMEDIATELY. My bag of choice was Frankie. Also known as the pink patchwork “Donna” bag from Nunoo. You guys know how much I love their bags. I talk about it in almost all of my posts because I’m always wearing one of their bags. It’d be sick if they sponsored me, no? There isn’t a brand that I like more at their price point. I can’t say enough great things about them!

I hope this post inspires you to go for a walk in the snow. Obviously dress warm and don’t be out for too long, but we found it to be really fun! I hope you do too! We all need some fresh air anyway. Also, if you’re a fashion chick like myself, don’t let the weather ruin your way of expression! Yes, you may look ridiculous to some but you do you. I didn’t let any of that stop me, and I’m happier for it. Life’s too short to care too much about what other people think.
Hope you’re all safe and well!
