Hey friends! Hope you’re all doing well! Today’s post is all about another SS17 trend that I didn’t bother to mention in my “SS17 Trend Guide”. Why? Good question. Maybe because I thought stripes weren’t that big a deal? Well, I was wrong. STRIPES ARE SO UNDERRATED. I love them! I don’t know what it is about them. Perhaps it ties with my obsession with Paris? Breton stripes are a Parisian thing, right? My current (cause it changes all the freaking time!) dream travel destination is Paris, France. Or anywhere in France! I know it’s probably sounding really cliché but it just looks so amaziinngg! I love all of it. I’m a HUGE Wannabe Parisian, and therefore I need to go.
Anyways, back to the real reason why I’m here. What is that again? .. Just kidding. Stripes. They actually go with absolutely EVERYTHING. Stripes are the ultimate/most awesome pattern because they can be considered a neutral. You can wear them with denim, black, any freaking colour, and with any other pattern too! Now when I say stripes, I’m generally talking about blue and white or black and white stripes. Horizontally or vertically. Here are some pictures:
Do you see?! There are so many ways to wear stripes! These outfits are bomb!! I can’t wait to experiment with stripes this upcoming season. If you couldn’t tell, most of the pictures are from the Fendi SS17 Fashion Show. And let me tell you, Fendi knows how to do stripes. I had to resist sharing photos of every single look that was on Fendi’s runway lol. I also tied in some more wearable looks, but I think Fendi is great inspiration for this trend. I hope this inspires you guys as much as it inspires me! Comment below if you’d like to see a look based on this trend in an upcoming blog post! I may just do it anyway ;p
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! (&Happy Valentines Day!!)
Until next time,
Hello, friends. I’m here with the first inspiration post of 2017!!! AHH!! Where did the time go?! I can’t believe that January is coming to an end already. I’m not going to lie, but I feel like I’ve had a great start to 2017. I just recently was promoted to a management position at work! I feel very motivated and determined, not just about work, but just in terms of life. I feel like I have everything in order right now. I know it sounds corny. I just feel really positive and happy, and I hope these feelings will continue in the months to come :))
Since I’ve been in a real positive mindset, I’ve been very comfortable going out of my comfort zone in terms of style. I’ve become more confident! I’ve been trying new things and experimenting with patterns and colours even more than before! I’ve been really into creating full looks and have gone as far as styling my hair!! If you know me, I have never been big on styling my hair. Normally, I’ll blow dry it a bit then let the rest air dry. That’s it! But lately I’ve been putting my curling wand to good use, and I actually kind of like it lol.
Now for my inspiration this month, the majority of it is more colourful. I love prints/patterns, I love mixing patterns, and I love BRIGHT colours. I really want to make a statement and maybe create a real brand for myself. I want to focus on really figuring out what my style really is, and how to best compliment my petite figure. For 2017, I want to find a way to benefit and really help other women who are tiny in terms of style and how to dress. Take a look at this month’s inspiration photos!!! –>
I don’t know about you but I’m so excited to see what 2017 brings me! I really want to accomplish a lot and make this year really count – but only time will tell!
I hope you guys are having a great week so far! :))
Until next time,
I’m here with my fashion inspiration photos of the month! You guys know how this goes. So for the month of October, according to all the photos I reblogged on Tumblr, I was inspired by chunky knits, velvet, tailored clothing/menswear, graphic tees, fishnets, sparkly things, and denim (as per usual lol). My love for turtlenecks has also been rekindled – yay! I’m patiently waiting for the perfect time to whip out my beret! Oh myyy, there’s so much I am looking forward to wearing this Fall/Winter!! Take a look below! I have TWENTY photos to share!! AH!
What fashion pieces/clothing items are your favourite during the Fall/Winter season? I’d love to know in the comments below!
Also, I have some exciting things coming your way! I VLOGGED a few days ago and I am so excited to edit it and share it with you guys. It was recorded on my iPhone, so it’s not my best camera skills but I enjoyed recording nonetheless – and I hope you guys will like it too! Another project I’m working on is a new series called “Wardrobe Additions”! I’m not sure if it’s going to be a monthly thing or a “play by ear” kind of thing, but I’m going to make blog posts on all the my pieces (whether thrifted or bought from Topshop lol), and share them with you all here! Exciting, no?!
I don’t want to give away too much, but I’m hoping I’ll get to share both these projects with you guys within the next week or so.
Until then, I hope you all have a great weekend! Happy Friday!
I’ve been nuts about velvet lately. I haven’t really gone crazy by adding a lot to my wardrobe yet (with the exception of a black velvet/embroidered bomber LOL), but I’ve definitely been appreciating velvet pieces while shopping this season. Velvet is 100% a trend right now. I love it, but I’m still a little cautious when it comes to pairing with it. As I write this post, I’m starting to think that maybe I should thrift a few velvet-y pieces and try styling them before I splurge on a cute pair of velvet pants or whatever at the mall. Sounds sensible, right? What are your guys’ feelings towards velvet?
Me? I love the look of textures. I love the idea of playing with textures. However, finding the confidence to actually go out in a multi-textured outfit is still a bit of a struggle. Then again, sometimes I’m wearing multiple textures without even realizing it! I just think that when done the wrong way, velvet could look tacky. I sometimes relate velvet to velour, and then I think of those Juicy Couture tracksuits and go “yuck”. But according to some articles those tracksuits are coming back, so I don’t even know anymore!! Below are some of the ways I’d want to style velvet. Let me know in the comments below if you like them :))
P.S. Having a laptop instead of a tablet is so much more motivating! Writing blog posts has never been easier!! It feels like a luxury LOL. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that as long as I can come up with new ideas, I’m going to blog as often as I can!! So get ready. #blogpostsonblogposts
As a fashion student, I am well aware that fashion typically runs in a cycle. The Fashion Cycle. Eventually, everything comes back into style. Based on the fashion shows that appeared in the Fall, most fashion trends in 2015 will be based on looks from the 70s!!! This excites me! After learning a lot about fashion history, I’d have to say that the 1970s is my favorite decade. When I’m working at Topshop, I see so many pieces that are 70s-inspired and I’m like #IGOTTAHAVETHIS. I also have parents coming in saying, “Holy smokes! This is what I wore at your age!” Basically, I am fully prepared to embrace this trend. There’s flared pants or “bell bottoms”, “psychedelic” prints, wide floral prints, fringe, and an interesting selection of vibrant colors. This year I don’t think I’ll be able to resist/avoid trying some color. I am also completely obsessed with the prints. I now gravitate towards them, which isn’t normally like me! I’m gradually beginning to add some life/character into my wardrobe (Hallelujah!). Here are some photos that I’ve accumulated as parts of my personal trendboard for this 70s trend. Some of you may not be a fan. It’s definitely a change from the simplistic and minimalistic pieces that we’ve seen during the past year or so – which now I find that so basic! (C’mon! Spice up your life!) Even if you’re not a fan of the 70s, it’s only the beginning of the year. Who knows what other trends we’ll start to see!
Hope you enjoyed these pictures (all were taken from Tumblr)!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
