March is fast-approaching! To me, that means it’s time for a new “Inspiration” post! If you’re a new reader, every month I try to share pictures I’ve stumbled upon on the internet that have inspired my style throughout the month. For the month of February I’ve definitely been loving a mixture of things you guys already know I love. I’ve just been more adventurous lately. I know my style is a bit different than most people, but I think I’ve been comfortable taking more risks. This month I’ve been embracing colours and fun pieces. I love things that are out of the ordinary. Combining pieces that don’t necessarily match but still manage to work well together, that’s what I’ve been loving. It’s definitely not easy because I’m also worried about having pieces that I won’t be able to wear in years to come. You’ve got be wise/savvy. That’s the marvelous thing about Fashion! Self-expression, being creative, and the ability to still do it on a budget!
Specific pieces that I wore a lot this month were patterned blouses, Converse sneakers, basic t-shirts, striped anything, and straight jeans. I mixed patterns, I played with colours, and I wore some statement accessories (especially earrings) as well. I definitely want to continue to grow and become more comfortable expressing myself. I have to admit that I do still think of the kind of looks I’ll get on the bus or what people will think of me while at work. I want to overcome that! I just want to do me.
Also, I really just want to share all my looks. Just to have a place to document and see my growth in terms of my taste and style with what I wear. I need a steady photographer. If you guys know of anyone in the Toronto area who would like to take pictures once or twice a week (for free/for practice), send them my way!
Alright, I think I’ve rambled enough for today. I hope you guys are satisfied with how your Februarys turned out. If you did anything exciting within the last month, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Until next time,
Hi everybody! Today’s post is all about my current obsession: eyeglasses. Not just any eyeglasses though. I am OBSESSED with these glasses that I got from Durumi http://www.instagram.com/thedurumi (a store downtown on Queen St). I just love these frames and every time I wear them to work I get so many compliments. They were only $25! They really add a bit of quirkiness to my outfits- and I love it.
The funny part is that I actually have proper prescription eyeglasses but I choose to wear these non-prescription ones instead. Makes sense, right? If anyone knows, can you get prescription lenses put into cheap frames like these? I may just go to Lenscrafters and find out myself. Or maybe there’s even similar frames there that I can turn into prescription glasses!?! I’ll keep you all updated. Don’t worry.
— But that’s it for today, my friends! Sorry that it’s a bit short and sweet this time. *GOOD* NEWS though! For the first week of January, beginning on New Years Eve, I will be using my vacation time! That’s an entire week of me, myself, and blogging ;)) I can’t wait, CAN YOU?
Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend so far! Get that Christmas shopping done! (I’m saying this more for me than for you LOL)
Until next time,
Hey friends!! Today I have a new outfit post, and it was inspired by this marvellous creature that I found at Forever21. It’s a double slit dress *gasp*. A co-worker of mine described it to me at work the other day and I was sold at the words ‘double slit’. I had been looking for something like this for a while and when she also mentioned that it was ONLY TWENTY DOLLLARS, I sped over to F21 during my 30min break. I had to!! It took a bit of hunting too, there was only two left!! I’m so glad that I found it. It’s so unique and I can picture myself wearing it with denim shorts in the spring/summer time! I love it! What are your thoughts?
Outfit: Dress – F21, Jeans & Jacket – Topshop, Boots – Zara, Necklace – Brandy Melville
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I’ve got a surprise coming your way, so keep them peepers open!!
