Hey friends! I’m currently a victim of a terrible stomach bug, and have isolated myself in my room with nothing to do. I can’t sit around and do nothing, so I thought I’d be productive and share a blog post! I kind of lost track of my “December Inspiration” and therefore I’ve decided to just share inspiration photos/photos of things I’m “currently loving”. I’ll probably continue to do monthly inspiration posts for 2017 because I like to see how my taste evolves throughout the year. I am going to put a stop to “Wardrobe Additions” though. As much as I liked the idea, I feel like it has encouraged me to shop more. I’ll go shopping and think: “I love this! And I could add it to my Wardrobe Additions for the month, so that’s even better!” So basically I was buying (or thinking of buying) even more clothes just for blog content. Definitely not the kind of mentality I should have if I want to save my money, pay off student loans, and travel. I have plenty of clothes that I can remix and re-style. I think that’s the great part about fashion and personal style. It works for any budget, and it’s more about how you express yourself than if you have the latest trendy piece. So here are some photos that inspire my current taste in fashion/style, and also some photos that I just loove right now:
There you have it! A quick post on what’s currently inspiring me style-wise. I know it’s not much, but it’s something! A new year’s resolution of mine if to be more consistent with blogging and to really (like actually) start my YouTube channel. I will keep you guys updated!
And until then, I hope you all had happy holidays and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store!
Have a great weekend (hope your Friday is going better than mine!),
For all of you who didn’t know, I recently moved in with one of my best friends in our very own apartment. Since moving in June, I’ve been so so sooo obsessed with decorating and really making this apartment more like a home. Before this apartment, I was crammed in a house with four other girls/students and it didn’t feel like home at all. I know that I’ll be moving again sometime in the future, but for now, I really want this apartment to look nice and to be a reflection of myself and my roommate. So far, I’m STILL working on my bedroom. It definitely looks more like MY room than it did at the beginning, but there’s still so much more I want to do! This is where my current obsession comes in: Urban Outfitters. The “home/apartment” section on their website is something I find myself browsing almost every single day. I love love love everything on that site. I tweet about it ALL the time. I love the style, I love the home-y vibes. Everything is so cute and so nice – and also sooo pricey. Pillows, rugs, blankets, frames, jewellery holders, lights, and snow globes- they have it all! Heck! I WANT IT ALL. I bit the bullet and ordered an area rug from them about two months ago, and I’m still in love with it. I’m dying for a cute floor pillow to go with it!
I don’t really know how to describe the vibe I get from Urban Outfitters’ home stuff. A lot may say it’s hipster, but I just think HOME. To better explain the things I like about UO Home, I’ve added a few photos that are “apartment goals” for me.
(Mom, if you’re reading this, can I get plants and pillows for Christmas?)
That’s all for today’s post! Are any of you nuts about home décor? Anybody else obsessed with Urban Outfitters Home? I can’t wait to finish my room, maybe I’ll do a blog post on it once it’s done!! Or a “Room Tour” video!! I’m super excited.
Hope you’re all having a good week so far!
Until next time,
If you guys don’t follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you wouldn’t know that I went to The 1975 concert a few days ago here in Toronto. It was held at the Air Canada Center, and IT WAS AWESOME!! I have to admit that I have seen them before. This was my second time seeing them, but they’re so good live that I didn’t even have to think twice about seeing them again. The last time I saw them perform was at a more intimate venue, which I would have honestly loved to experience again. However, even though they performed at a bigger venue, I think they were still just as great (maybe even better). I had such a good time! I’m pretty sure I’ve replayed the videos I recorded that night at least once every day since. If you like The 1975’s music, I highly recommend you see them perform live if they’re playing near you. Their opening act this time was absolutely terrible (I don’t even remember the name of him/her/them lol), but The 1975’s performance certainly made up for it! Below are some photos and a link to a video I have of Matty (the lead singer) getting the audience to sing “Happy Birthday” to his grandfather. It was seriously the cutest thing. Also, I want to a give a quick shoutout to my friend Deniz who accompanied me. I’m so glad we went! I definitely will see The 1975 for a third time (if there is a third time *fingers crossed*).
I just realized you can hear my awful singing voice in the background, but here’s the “Happy Birthday, Vin (Matty’s grandfather)” video:
That’s it for today! Thank you guys for taking the time to read this. I hope you guys are having a great day!
Until next time,
Hi again! I felt the sudden urge to make a blog post, so here I am to share with you my current obsession. If I’m going to make a blog post, it has to be about how obsessed I am with statement earrings lately. I feel like they are really making a comeback this year and well into next year. I love the look of statement earrings and how they’re simply the icing on the cake to any outfit. My collection of statement earrings is quite small at the moment. I think I have maybe 3 or 4 pairs of statement earrings that I rotate through throughout the week? I definitely want more. Below are photos of earrings I wish I could afford/add to my collection..
(All these photos were taken from Tumblr.)
What do you guys think of statement earrings? Do you think they’re too much? Heavy? – I think they can be heavy and because my head is on the smaller side, I feel that sometimes earrings are too overwhelming next to my face. Statement earrings that are on the simpler side are probably my safest bet.
Anyways, once I have various pairs of earrings in my collection (I’m hoping some vintage and some new), I’ll share them with you! It probably won’t be anytime soon though, Christmas is coming!! (AHHH)
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!
Until next time,
I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s Alexa Chung (I’m obsessed with her), but I’ve been really drawn to the look of a straw bag. If you don’t know me, I love bags/purses. So maybe it’s really no surprise that I love this new trend. I’ve seen photos with women with different versions of straw bags and I think their outfits look great! It looks so cute and chic! I feel like it looks stylish. I love what it adds to an outfit and I’m really contemplating on getting one myself. The big question is: is it worth it? I mean, I like the look of it and I’m sure depending on the style I get it, it could probably carry a lot of my stuff..
But then again, it’s definitely just a “trendy” piece. No one is going to be carrying straw purses come Fall/Winter. This is definitely just a new look for the Summer, and may or may not get more attention next year.
Therefore, I’m torn! Do I love the trend enough to get one? Or should I just pass and put my money towards something that will always be in style?
My other alternative is finding one at a thrift store. This way I get the satisfaction of having a cute, trendy, and stylish piece, but I don’t break the bank!
Here are some pictures of the trend. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below! Do you love the trend or hate it??
That’s all for today! I hope you’re all enjoying your Wednesday (:
