Hey friends! I’m currently a victim of a terrible stomach bug, and have isolated myself in my room with nothing to do. I can’t sit around and do nothing, so I thought I’d be productive and share a blog post! I kind of lost track of my “December Inspiration” and therefore I’ve decided to just share inspiration photos/photos of things I’m “currently loving”. I’ll probably continue to do monthly inspiration posts for 2017 because I like to see how my taste evolves throughout the year. I am going to put a stop to “Wardrobe Additions” though. As much as I liked the idea, I feel like it has encouraged me to shop more. I’ll go shopping and think: “I love this! And I could add it to my Wardrobe Additions for the month, so that’s even better!” So basically I was buying (or thinking of buying) even more clothes just for blog content. Definitely not the kind of mentality I should have if I want to save my money, pay off student loans, and travel. I have plenty of clothes that I can remix and re-style. I think that’s the great part about fashion and personal style. It works for any budget, and it’s more about how you express yourself than if you have the latest trendy piece. So here are some photos that inspire my current taste in fashion/style, and also some photos that I just loove right now:
There you have it! A quick post on what’s currently inspiring me style-wise. I know it’s not much, but it’s something! A new year’s resolution of mine if to be more consistent with blogging and to really (like actually) start my YouTube channel. I will keep you guys updated!
And until then, I hope you all had happy holidays and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store!
Have a great weekend (hope your Friday is going better than mine!),
Hi everybody! Today’s post is all about my current obsession: eyeglasses. Not just any eyeglasses though. I am OBSESSED with these glasses that I got from Durumi http://www.instagram.com/thedurumi (a store downtown on Queen St). I just love these frames and every time I wear them to work I get so many compliments. They were only $25! They really add a bit of quirkiness to my outfits- and I love it.
The funny part is that I actually have proper prescription eyeglasses but I choose to wear these non-prescription ones instead. Makes sense, right? If anyone knows, can you get prescription lenses put into cheap frames like these? I may just go to Lenscrafters and find out myself. Or maybe there’s even similar frames there that I can turn into prescription glasses!?! I’ll keep you all updated. Don’t worry.
— But that’s it for today, my friends! Sorry that it’s a bit short and sweet this time. *GOOD* NEWS though! For the first week of January, beginning on New Years Eve, I will be using my vacation time! That’s an entire week of me, myself, and blogging ;)) I can’t wait, CAN YOU?
Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend so far! Get that Christmas shopping done! (I’m saying this more for me than for you LOL)
Until next time,
Hi again! I felt the sudden urge to make a blog post, so here I am to share with you my current obsession. If I’m going to make a blog post, it has to be about how obsessed I am with statement earrings lately. I feel like they are really making a comeback this year and well into next year. I love the look of statement earrings and how they’re simply the icing on the cake to any outfit. My collection of statement earrings is quite small at the moment. I think I have maybe 3 or 4 pairs of statement earrings that I rotate through throughout the week? I definitely want more. Below are photos of earrings I wish I could afford/add to my collection..
(All these photos were taken from Tumblr.)
What do you guys think of statement earrings? Do you think they’re too much? Heavy? – I think they can be heavy and because my head is on the smaller side, I feel that sometimes earrings are too overwhelming next to my face. Statement earrings that are on the simpler side are probably my safest bet.
Anyways, once I have various pairs of earrings in my collection (I’m hoping some vintage and some new), I’ll share them with you! It probably won’t be anytime soon though, Christmas is coming!! (AHHH)
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!
Until next time,
I’m trying a different kind of post today. Let me know if you guys like it! I’ve decided to create a monthly post dedicated to everything that I’ve been loving that month. These are the things that I have been loving throughout the month of March! Let’s begin with the gray sleeveless vest/jacket. Not quite a vest, not quite a jacket. It’s bigger than your average vest but unlike your typical jacket, it has no sleeves! I’ve been throwing it on over a number of different outfits this month. It’s really versatile and I highly recommend getting one if it suits your style! My second favourite is Gossip Girl. I’ve owned every season for a while now but I’ve never watched all of them consecutively! This month I took on the challenge. Starting from the beginning, I watched every single episode (I actually just finished the final episode yesterday lol). Seriously, who does not love a little GG? Blair and Chuck? Don’t even get me started! There’s so much to love about the show and if you’ve never watched it before (and I really how you have!!), YOU’RE TOTALLY MISSING OUT. My next favourite is a book I borrowed from my boyfriend’s mom. It was such a good read! I was so addicted that I could not put it down. I just recently recommended it to my sister and she read the first chapter then bought it herself! I can’t really summarize books without getting so excited that I basically ruin it for you. I WILL say that it is a very eye-opening memoir. If you can only read one memoir this year, make it this one! My next favourite is this cute mug from Anthropologie with my initial on it. It’s adorable, what else is there to say? For a while, maybe since the beginning of Fall last year, I’ve been searching for the perfect pair of black ankle boots. Ones that go perfectly with any outfit and can be easily incorporated from season to season. I don’t want to jinx anything, but I think I’ve found the ones. This pair from Boohoo has been on my feet a lot throughout the month of March and I am so happy I purchased them! I can picture wearing them in the summer with denim shorts and a flowy tank ;D They’re perfect! My last two favourites are these bracelets from Aldo and two nail polishes that I have been gravitating the most towards. I began my Aldo bracelet addiction with the purchase/donation I made to support the fight against aids/HIV. They were so colorful that they reminded me of the bracelets I used to stack during the summer. This made me go back to Aldo and buy more colorful bracelets. I’m not sure if “arm candy” is still a thing, but I enjoy seeing the color on my wrist! I may not go overboard but I will most definitely sport these bracelets more often in the months to come! My final favourites are the two nail polishes that I have been loving for the month of March. I didn’t gravitate towards color, so I apologize for that. Nothing special really happened in the nail department for me. I wore a lot of black and a lot of nude. My favourite black nail polish is Revlon’s “Knock Out”. My favourite nude nail polish is Essie’s “Topless and Barefoot”.
So there you have it! My favourite goodies for the month of March! If you liked this sort of post, let me know so I can start working on my favourites for April! ;D
Until next time!! xx
