I’ve had this cardigan finished for a couple of weeks now, but I haven’t shown you guys on my blog! I am so proud of this achievement. I learned how to crochet and made the infamous Harry Styles cardigan (originally designed by JW Anderson) all by myself! I never crocheted before and I never made a full-on clothing piece before. I had a lot of help from YouTube (thank you Liv Huffman!). I think I shared in one of my monthly favourites posts that I was working on the squares for this cardigan sweater. But I’ve finally put it together and I styled it, and here’s how it turned out!

Overall, this took me about 11 weeks to make. If I were to do it again, I definitely don’t think it would take me as long. I first had to get the hang of crocheting because I had never crocheted before. I had to watch a couple YouTube videos to learn about tension, etc. I also had to re-do some of the squares because the ones I started out with were not the same size as the ones I had near the end, BUT I DID IT! It was worth all the time and effort. The feeling of making something yourself and wearing it is probably one of the best feelings ever. I have never been so happy. It didn’t turn out terrible! I do think it’s a bit too long for me. Next time, I think I would make less squares. I’m learning now that altering a pattern so it fits my body is not as scary as I thought, and now I’m excited to make more projects!

I styled my cardigan with a simple pair of jeans. These are Levi’s. I think these are their “Balloon jeans”. They were returned at work (Free People) in my size, and I tried them on and loved them! The shape is great! I kind of wear these jeans with everything now. Underneath I wore a simple white tank that is also from Free People. I thought a simple white tank or white t-shirt would really allow my colourful cardigan to “pop”. I really just wanted my masterpiece to shine y’know lol? For shoes, I also kept it rather simple. White high-top Converse were perfect and tied well with the white tank top. I really felt like I wanted everything underneath to be like a blank canvas and have the art (my *homemade* cardigan) on top. The only accessories that I added were my newest Nunoo (the black Lin bag), and my Mejuri chunky hoop earrings.

TANK TOP – Free People

CARDIGAN – made it myself!

JEANS – Levi’s at Free People

SNEAKERS – Converse

JEWELRY – Mejuri

BAG – Nunoo

After finishing this little project and having it turn out much better than I expected, I really encourage you guys to try it! Crocheting is so easy. It took watching one YouTube video a couple of times and I quickly got the hang of it! If I can do it, you can do it! If you want to know the video I followed to make this specific cardigan, here it is!

Please let me know if you try this! I really wanna see how yours turns out. If you can, show me in the comment section! We can be the Harry Styles crochet cardigan club ha-ha!

P.S. I recently finished another crocheted piece that I can’t wait to share! It turned out so well and I’ve already received so many amazing compliments while wearing it at work. I’m so proud and I’ve been told a few times that I should create an Etsy shop and sell some! Would you guys buy them if I sold them? I know you don’t exactly know what I’ve made yet, but this is really something I’ve been considering! I’ll have to create a few more pieces to have an actual shop but I think I’m kinda into the idea. Let me know what you think down in the comment section below!

I hope you guys are all doing well!

Happy Monday!

Book Review: Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid

Hello everyone! I’m back with another book review. I don’t even know if I can fully consider this a review (am I really qualified?). But these are just a few of my thoughts on the book and whether or not I recommend it. Okay, so maybe it is a review lol.

This book was chosen for one of my book clubs and I’ll let you know right off the bat that we all loved it. Everyone gave it a 5/5 star rating. I guess this might be all you need to know, but I’ll tell you a bit more anyway!

Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid was such a breath of fresh air. It was so easy to read, and also quite fun! Kiley Reid is a beautiful writer and I loved that she created relatable characters that had very realistic conversations. She perfectly demonstrated the differences there are when it comes to privilege, class and race. I also love how she didn’t create any bias. She let you form your own opinions about each character. Questions like: Is Kelley racist? Is Alix racist? Should Emira really be working for Alix? Is Kelley dating Emira for the right reasons? When trying to figure it out yourself, Kiley Reid made sure that you understood everyone’s intentions and gave you a very considerate look at everyone’s point of view. And despite the weight of these topics, she managed to keep it light and easy to follow.

Guys, this book was great. If you’re still unfamiliar with racism and white guilt (and I really hope you aren’t), this is a book you want to read. If you’re familiar, I think it’s a refreshing approach and something you’ll enjoy reading. It’s definitely one you’ll want to recommend to your friends!

It’s written in two perspectives: Alix (the rich white woman) and Emira (Alix’s black babysitter). One night, Emira is called while she is out at a party with her friends. Alix, her boss, needs Emira to take her eldest daughter out of the house for a little bit. Why? Her husband had said something offensive and racist on television (he’s a news anchor) and a rock was just thrown through their front window. They didn’t want Briar (their toddler and eldest child) to be there when the cops arrived so Emira obliged, and they sent an Uber to come get her (Emira isn’t told why their front window is broken). When Emira gets there, they send her and Briar to the expensive grocery store a couple blocks away. It’s frequented mostly by white people so when Emira and Briar get there, Emira runs into some trouble with the grocery store’s security guard. He thinks Emira (because she’s a black woman with a white child) kidnapped Briar and it becomes a huge and unnecessary scene. Kelley, a total stranger at the time, records the whole scenario with his cellphone and then tells Emira she should post it online. This would go viral and expose the racism in the community. Emira says no and tells him to delete it, and that’s all I’m going to tell you. That’s also practically how this novel starts and everything that occurs afterwards is somehow tied to it.

I always say this (because I really think I’m awful at retelling or providing decent summaries), but I’m sorry if this doesn’t entice you at all to read this book. I’m trying not to give too much away. However, everyone from book club will definitely back me up and encourage you to give “Such a Fun Age” a shot. It honestly was so well done. I loved it. It’s such a perfect example of how things are and have been, and what needs to change.

If you pick up this book, you have to let me know what you think of it! It’s a great novel. Again, 5/5 star rating! I promise you won’t regret this.

Happy reading!

Also, I always love book recommendations so feel free to leave me some in the comments!

Until next time,

Orange You Glad It’s Autumn?

I got a lot of comments on the colours of this outfit on Instagram, and then I realized myself that I do look rather autumnal. I’m not one to really embrace the end of summer. By now you guys should know that I am a summer baby/lover through and through. The end of summer is usually a time of mourning for me lol. It generally takes me until the spring to really warm up to another season, BUT I think I’m okay with fall this year! I’ve been super drawn to the colour orange and all the shades of brown. I think I might be more shocked than you guys but I’m even going on walks and enjoying the crunch of the fallen leaves underneath my feet. It’s quite nice!

Although it’s going to be a while until it’s summer again, I’ll take autumn/fall. If we didn’t have fall here in Canada, I wouldn’t be able to wear this gorgeous sweater! For today’s outfit that I’m sharing, I wore this really fuzzy and adorable cardigan/sweater from Free People. It’s called the “Allegra” cardigan. Selena Gomez actually wore it in white last year and I’ve kind of wanted it ever since lol. This year we got a ton of really fun colours and this rusty orange one just called to me. It’s also the softest cardigan I’ve ever worn. It’d be weird but I think I could pet myself all day if I didn’t have some self-restraint. I’m telling you, it’s really that soft! It’s also super versatile, you can wear it by itself or unbutton it and use it as a layering piece!

To pair with this cardigan, I also wore a skirt (the “Moving On” mini skirt) from Free People. When we received this skirt at our location, I can’t pinpoint what it was about it but I just had to have it. Why? It looks so luxe! I think it’s perfect for this fall and winter season. It’s also, dare I say it, kind of giving me Emily In Paris vibes (don’t kill me for making another EIP reference)! With black tights and some cute booties? SO CUTE. Speaking of Paris, I also had to add another beret. I hope you’re all ready to see my entire beret collection this season ha-ha, because there’s a lot more where this came from! This specific beret is a new addition. It’s this plush beret by the brand Kangol, but I ordered it from Free People’s online website. The more I’m writing, the more I’m realizing that a lot of this outfit is from work. I’ve been working for Free People for a year now so I guess this was bound to happen. These boots that I’m wearing are also from work. They’re by Dr. Marten and I absolutely love them. This is my first pair of Dr. Marten boots because I’ve never been able to find a pair that fit! These were returned in my size and I felt like it was a sign – a gift from the heavens! Seriously though, I was super excited about them. I almost slept with them when I got home.

Some other accessories that I added to this look are my current favourite earrings from Mejuri (@mejuri on Instagram), and my beloved pink quilted Nunoo bag or what I like to call her, Frankie (yes, I name my bags).

TOP/SWEATER – Free People

SKIRT – Free People

HAT – Kangol at Free People

BAG – Nunoo

JEWELRY – Mejuri

BOOTS – Dr. Marten at Free People

That’s it for my autumnal outfit of the day! It’s sad to say but I think this might be the last outfit of the year with exposed legs. I mean, I’d say maybe over the holidays but I don’t think the holiday season is going to be the same this year. What do you guys think? What are you expecting or what do you have planned for the holiday season (it’s coming so fast!)? Let me know in the comment section below!

I hope you’re all safe and doing well!

Until next time,

La *trendy* Plouc

Sorry to do it to you again, but I’m making another Emily in Paris reference with my title here ha-ha. I can’t help it! My roommate just started watching it so I’m kinda watching it again (for maybe the fifth time). No complaints here though! You know I’m totally obsessed.

For those of you that don’t care about the show (which I’m assuming is most of you because it’s really not that big of a deal lol), “la plouc” means “hick” or “hillbilly” or “country bumpkin” in French. They call Emily at the office “la plouc” for a little bit because she’s the American.

Anyways, I thought it was quite fitting in regards to the outfit that I’m about to share with you today. I’m wearing denim overalls and although they’re more commonly worn on a farm, I think they’re cool af. They’re also super comfortable! I feel like I’m wearing pyjamas or something. This pair that I’m wearing here are from Free People. Are you starting to tell that I work there? I think my wardrobe is becoming mostly Free People lol. They’re called the “Ziggy Denim Overalls“. I got them in an XS in black. Looking at them on the hanger, I really thought they were going to be too big for me, but they weren’t! It was a pleasant surprise and it just reminded me that I can’t knock anything until I try it.

Underneath these overalls, I wore this blue tie-dyed ribbed long sleeved shirt that’s also from Free People. I thought it added the right amount of colour to the outfit. It’s called the “We The Free Swirl Tee“. It also comes in pink! With overalls, I find them really easy to style because you just need to find an interesting top to wear underneath, then accessorize however you like! And y’all know I love accessorizing ha-ha. Without trying to repeat myself, I just think overalls are a perfect blank canvas to wear that crazy bag, funky earrings, or weird hat! I chose the weird hat for this outfit lol. I mean, it’s not exactly weird but I think most people would stay away from it. And that’s fine by me! I want to be different! This hat that I’m wearing is this fluffy bucket hat that I picked up from that favourite Korean boutique of mine: Durumi (@thedurumi on Instagram) They’re located on Queen St. West and I really want them to make it through this pandemic. If you live in Toronto, I highly recommend this place! You have to check it out if you’re petite like me. They also have a ton of unique accessories for those of you that aren’t. It’s such a cute little spot!

For shoes, I wore these Dr. Marten 1461 oxfords. They’re in a kids size 2. My feet look super tiny in them but I really wanted a pair of oxfords for this season! I want to pair them with trousers and a bunch of fun socks! I wore Mejuri (@mejuri) hoops because I recently got two pairs for every day. I think they’re such a great staple jewelry item. They go with everything and I think they add some sophistication as well. I got a smaller chunky pair and a larger tubular (?) pair? I’m really happy with them! I can rotate between the two depending on the outfit and they won’t tarnish as quickly as most of my other hoops. I’m actually thinking they won’t tarnish at all if I take good care of them! The final piece to this outfit is my bag (the best for last tbh). I think I’ve just gotten used to calling it “my football” at this point so that’s what I’m naming her. It’s the black Lin bag from Nunoo that I talked about it in my last monthly favourites blog post and YouTube video. I’m still loving her and I’m still loving her with every outfit.

SHOES – Dr. Marten at Browns

JEWELRY – Mejuri

I hope you enjoyed my trendy “plouc” outfit! Thank you to those that have recently followed my blog, I appreciate it so much. I hope my writing/content isn’t a disappointment. My plan (since I’m off all next week) is to write some new and interesting content to share within the next two weeks (fingers crossed)! Stay tuned!

Please stay safe and well!

Dreaming of Me in Paree

If you know me, you are well aware that I am obsessed with visiting Paris one day. I know it sounds tres cliché, but I don’t care. I’ve watched Emily In Paris on Netflix about four times now, and I just wish, and hope, and dream that maybe I could have that experience someday.

Anyways, if the beret doesn’t give it away, I am clearly influenced by this show. There are a lot of mixed reviews about it but I love it. I can’t wait until season 2. I mean, THERE HAS TO BE A SEASON 2. Darren Star, the creator of Sex And The City, also created this show! And Patricia Field, the costume designer/the woman that clothed Carrie Bradshaw, is also the woman that styled Emily!!! I don’t know about you but I am thoroughly excited by it.

I’ve been on Duolingo practicing my French as well (I’m in the amethyst league!). We’re completely obsessed with all things French over here, guys. I want to go to Paris. I want to go to Paris. I want to go to Paris! Maybe if I say it enough I’ll manifest it lol. With COVID-19, it’ll probably be a while. But a girl can dream, right?

For this outfit, I wore these “Just Float On” flare jeans from Free People. Someone returned a pair in a Short length at work and I obviously scooped them up right away. I unfortunately still needed to cut a few inches off (God, I’m so short lol) but they look great now! On top, I wore a cropped cable knit sweater (also from Free People) and a houndstooth (I think?) blazer. I know houndstooth is normally black and white but I swear this print looks similar. It could also pass as plaid or a check print. Let me know what print you think it is in the comment section! This blazer was thrifted from Value Village and it’s been one of my favourite finds. It fits so well and it goes with so many things in my closet. To tie in with the neutral tones, I wore a camel-coloured slouchy beret that I also picked up at Free People. It’s so oversized and I’m kind of obsessed with the way it hangs. I don’t have a beret like it! And if you know me, you know I have a full-on collection of berets lol. I’m not kidding about Paris, guys.

The shoes I chose for this outfit were my black platform chelsea boots that I recently picked up from Little Burgundy. I think I talked about these boots in my last outfit post but they’re from the brand Vagabond. I love them and as you can probably tell, I can’t stop wearing them. They offered the perfect height I needed to wear these jeans.

The final piece to this outfit is this purse from TOPSHOP that I’ve held onto for a couple years now. I don’t wear it often but I keep it around because it’s so unique. It’s made with pink feathers. It has a tortoiseshell strap. It’s one of my favourite bags in my collection because I’ve never seen anything like it, and I kinda sorta see Emily wearing it in Paris ha-ha.

Alright, there’s another outfit for y’all! I hope you enjoyed it. If you want to see more Emily In Paris -inspired outfits, let me know in the comment section below! I’m not gonna lie, it’s definitely something I’ve thought about. Or maybe just Paris -inspired looks? I don’t know about you but during this pandemic where we’re mostly self-isolating, dreaming of being in Paris and watching Emily In Paris has been such a great escape. I think that’s why I love it so much. It just gives me a reason to take a break and forget all about the stressful and terrible things that are going on right now. If you need to escape and Paris is something you also dream about, I highly recommend watching this show!

Take care, everybody!

Until next time,

Book Review: The Lightness by Emily Temple

So I kind of debated on writing a review for this book because I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to. Part of me only wants to share the books that I love, but maybe it’s more of a book for you than it is for me! I don’t want you to miss out on it just because I wasn’t obsessed. I really wanted to like this book because it was last month’s book for Belletrist (Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss’ book club) and I love them. I usually love their monthly book picks. I respect them so much and they inspire me to create a book club of my own someday so I don’t want to not like one of their book picks, but I kinda did.

The Lightness by Emily Temple was different. Emily Temple’s writing style is great. The story (and I’m just being 100% honest) just didn’t interest me very much. I’m still glad I read it because I learned some things and that’s all I ever ask for when reading a book. The Lightness is just not a book that I would go on about to all of my friends, you know?

It’s about a girl named Olivia who’s father leaves her and her mother. He (the person she adores most in the world) just disappears and Olivia doesn’t know what to make of it. Is he dead? Where did he go and how does she get him back? The last place her father was that she can trace is at the Levitation Center. She enrolls in this summer program there for troubled teens looking for answers, and to get away from her abusive mother. She steals a credit card, pays for this summer program, then meets three girls that she will never forget: Laurel, Janet, and Serena. Laurel is the quintessential beauty, Janet is the quiet and mysterious one, and Serena is their leader. The energy that these girls have whenever their in a room draws Olivia to them instantly. She just has to be their friend, or at least learn more about them. They see something in her as well and they soon become a foursome.

Now a lot happens but the main focus of this book is figuring out Serena and why she is so determined to learn how to levitate and experience “ultimate lightness”. Serena’s passion is contagious and it easily makes the rest of them want to learn as well. It becomes their mission that summer. They try everything. They drink alcohol, (I think) they choke each other (?), at night they perform “The Feeling”, and they create a special diet with this tea made from a weed that they concoct in the kitchen when no one is watching. But most of all, they need Luke’s help. Luke is the “hot guy” that tends the garden at the center. Apparently, Serena has seen him levitate and strongly believes that he can teach them how. All the girls are obsessed with him (and tbh, I don’t understand why).

Explaining the rest would be spoiling the novel for you. I never do novels justice when trying to write a *brief* synopsis, and I apologize for that. However, if you would like to find out whether they actually learn how to levitate or achieve ultimate lightness, and if any of them end up with this Luke fellow, give this book a read! Like I said, I learned a lot. They touch on a lot of interesting facts about Buddhism in this novel if that’s also something you’re into.

Overall, I think I’d rate this book 3.5/5 stars. If you end up reading this, or have already read it, please let me know your thoughts in the comment section! Maybe I didn’t pay enough attention and need to read it again!

Stay well and stay safe!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

This Is Everything.

I don’t want to toot my own horn or anything but *toot toot* THIS IS MY THIRD BLOG POST THIS WEEK! I’m on a roll y’all! I think it might just be because I am backlogged with outfit photos to share with you. I love sharing my outfits but I’ve been working on a lot of other content to mix things up a bit, and therefore haven’t had the time to share any outfit posts!

One of the things I’m currently looking into is creating a “Reel” on Instagram. I know it’s totally irrelevant to WordPress, but I’ve been putting a lot of time and energy in what I want to do creatively in that aspect. I also don’t even know how to freaking do it yet! I might have to get help from my 13 year-old sister lol.

Anyways, like I said, I’m here with another outfit post! I’ve got a ton of other content that I’ve been writing down and planning in my notebook so stay tuned for that. But for now I’m going to share with you this outfit because this dress is everything. Seriously though, it’s called the “This Is Everything” denim mini dress from Free People. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I work at a Free People location here in Toronto. We’ve been getting a lot of new product lately (honestly, we don’t even know where to put it all!) and this dress came in and I knew right away that I had to have it. I think it’s perfect for fall. I’ll add some tights and some chunky boots, maybe even a turtleneck underneath when it gets colder.

For now, and for this outfit in particular, I wore it with these new boots from Little Burgundy. I’ve ordered tons of shoes from Little Burgundy before and I love that they have so many great brands. These boots are from the brand Vagabond. It’s a Swedish fashion company that specializes in shoes. I’ve owned a pair of shoes designed by them before and I cannot believe how comfortable their shoes are! I highly recommended this brand. Some of my friends have actually purchased these shoes after I shared them on my Instagram. They’re so trendy and like I said, SO COMFORTABLE. The style of these boots is a version of their “Tara” boot but I’ll link you guys to the exact boot here: https://vagabond.com/ca/TARA-4846-101-20

I do also want to say that the platform on these babies are fantastic for your tiny girl over here lol. The little boost that these boots give me make me feel like a whole new woman!

I kept the rest of the outfit really simple (*simple for me lol). I wore some silver hoops from TOPSHOP (they go well with the silver hardware on my purse!). I added a padded black velvet headband that I purchased from Amazon last fall. And for some more colour, I added Ellie! I haven’t worn her in a while but she’s another one of my precious Nunoo bags. I love that she’s two different colours. I think it makes the outfit more fun and playful with a bit of green snake print!

Dress – Free People

Bag – Nunoo

Boots – Vagabond at Little Burgundy

Headband – Amazon

Earrings – Freedom at TOPSHOP

That’s my outfit! I hope you guys love this dress as much as I do! It’s very rare that I find a dress that hits me at the right spot. Length is really tough for me and Free People doesn’t really have a Petite section. This dress was a fab find!

Thank you so much for reading this post. I hope you’re all safe and well! I’d love to get to know some of you if you want to reach out in the comment section! Welcome to all my new followers. I really appreciate you giving this blog a follow.

Thanks again xo

Until next time!

Thank You, Naïf!

Hey y’all! I’m back with another outfit post to share. I don’t have very many shots with this one because I wore it for the first time while I was visiting my family for the weekend. I loved my outfit so much that I pulled my boyfriend aside to take some quick photos before we went antique shopping lol.

This post is not sponsored but the jacket that I’m wearing was gifted by this brand from Montreal called Naïf. This is a gorgeous jacket called their “Indy Jacket“, and I think this is the first clothing item that I have ever been gifted! It’s definitely something special and I am truly grateful that they thought to reach out to little ol’ me.

For the outfit, what I wore underneath the Naïf jacket, is this pair of really nice joggers? I don’t know if you can all these joggers because they’re more of a trouser but they have a drawstring at the waist. They’re like event-appropriate pants but with the comfort of sweatpants/joggers? I don’t know! Either way, I am completely in love with them! They’re definitely a style that I have been loving lately. I think the light grey colour goes with everything and they’re from TOPSHOP’s Petite section, so they obviously fit perfectly. The shirt I wore with these pants is just a white tank from Free People. All of my white tank tops are getting old and they don’t look as white as they used to, so I made sure to pick up a few new ones. This one is super comfy. I’m really going to miss wearing tank tops. Now that I look back at this outfit, I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to wear an outfit like this again. Well, not until next year at least. It’s getting SO COLD. I’m waking up in the morning with a bit of a scratchy throat and that’s definitely a sign that it’s getting chillier.

The shoes that I wore are something new and exciting as well! I don’t think I’ve shared these with you guys yet. I made a weird and impulsive decision to get Nike Jordans lol. What compelled me to do such a thing? Instagram tbh. Luckily for me, I fit into children’s sneakers! I ordered a pair in a Youth Size 2. They fit perfectly. I’ve been sliding them on with a lot of my outfits lately. I might be some sort of a “sneakerhead” if I don’t watch out! Anyways, love these sneakers. I feel way cooler than I actually am in them and that’s always nice lol.

Now for accessories! Kept it minimal. I wore a rope chain necklace from my favourite store on Queen St. West : Durumi (@thedurumi on Instagram). I wore my everyday rings and earrings from Mejuri and finally, my latest Nunoo! This little baby was being sold on URBAN OUTFITTERS‘ website! I couldn’t believe it! I work for Free People and Urban Outfitters is a sister brand and therefore, I get a discount! To be able to get an employee discount off a Nunoo bag is a bloody freaking (you read that right) dream come true. You best believe that I’m going to be keeping my eye on any more Nunoo bags that make their way on to the UO website lol. This bag (I think) is called “Lin”. I haven’t quite come up with a name for her myself. She’s tiny, has silver hardware, and is made of the most beautiful textured black leather. She’s gorgeous! Although she cannot fit as much as my other Nunoo bags, I’ve been wearing her a lot lately because believe it or not, I don’t think I own a black bag! I think I kind of try my best to stay away from black so having a black bag was not something I ever thought I’d enjoy. It’s the sweetest surprise though! So happy to have another Nunoo to add to my collection.

TOP – Free People

BAG – Nunoo

Before I take off, I just want to say that I’m super thankful for Naïf and that they wanted to send me one of their beautiful pieces. If you would like to check out some of their clothes, go to http://www.naifstyle.com! The Indy Jacket is $148 CAD. They currently still have a #BACKTOSCHOOLSALE going on where you can get 10% off one piece, 20% off two pieces, and 30% off 3 pieces or more!

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you’re all safe and well!

August + September Faves

I don’t know if you guys have noticed (because I think I’m the only that likes these posts lol), but I haven’t done a favourites video or blog post in a REALLY long time. Two months to be exact. Why? I guess life got a little crazy. I was planning my sister’s baby shower and I went back to work at the beginning of August. I was working full-time during the month of August so I found myself being too tired to really focus on anything else. After six months of being at home and doing nothing, it was a huge adjustment to get back into work again. Unfortunately, I’ve gone down to two shifts a week again but now I can get back to stuff like this! The fun stuff! I know I say this every time but I really do think I have a great mix of favourites to share. The only disappointment is that I don’t have a book to share this time! I can guarantee that there will be at least one for next month’s favourites though, don’t you worry!

Now on to my favourites from the last two months!

Also, like always, here’s a YouTube video where I talk about all of these favourites if you’d prefer to watch that than continue reading!

Apple Watch – I don’t want to be one of those girls, but I really thought I was going to have a hard time warming up to the Apple watch. I only thought this way because I was worried about it clashing with all my outfits! Fortunately, that wasn’t the case! I picked up this strap that I think is so me and goes with everything in my wardrobe. I found it on Etsy and I’ll link the seller for you here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/SimeonDJewelry Now if I thought I was going to have a hard time warming up to it, then why the heck did I buy it? Well since the pandemic started, I’ve changed the way I look at my overall health. I really want to treat my body better because I’ll be honest, before this pandemic I was eating like I was still in college. I was just eating the most unhealthy crap. I was ordering a lot from UberEats and just not conscious of what I was putting into my body or how much exercise I was doing. To be honest, I wasn’t exercising at all. Slowing down and not working (and gaining some weight) really showed me the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I’m definitely not going to be young forever so I better start now!

Free People Sunset Park Cardi – I’ve worn this in a previous outfit post so I won’t say too much about this cardigan. But I will say that it’s probably my favourite cardigan right now! Honestly, it’s the perfect cardigan for the weather right now. The colours scream fall. It’s so cozy. I get compliments on how cozy I look whenever I wear it. It’s just like wearing a blanket! But make it fashion? Or at least appropriate for the public? I got this cardigan from Free People, we no longer have it at our store but it’s definitely still available online! Here’s another link: https://www.freepeople.com/shop/sunset-park-cardi/?color=089&type=REGULAR&quantity=1

Crocheting – I don’t think I’ve talked about this very much on my blog, but I’m trying to recreate that infamous JW Anderson cardigan that Harry Styles wore. I saw a girl on YouTube (Liv Huffman) make it and then get featured in VOGUE magazine and was like, “HELLO?!” I mean, it’s too late for me to be featured in Vogue LOL, but I definitely want to try this! So I’ve been working on it for a couple month’s now and I can confidently say that we’re getting close to the end! I hope it turns out okay so I can share with you the results. (You’ll know it turned out horrendous if I no longer speak of it after today lol)

Nunoo Bags – Are we even surprised at this point? It’s been almost a year and a half since I’ve started talking about these bags and I honestly feel like I mention them every month. Am I getting redundant? Predictable even? I can’t help it! I like what I like, and Nunoo bags are my kryptonite. I have two more additions. One I’ve talked about more than the other. It’s the powder blue bag that I named Pearl. She looks like a clam but I think her real name is Saki. The Nunoo “Saki” bag in powder blue. She’s gorgeous. We love her. She fits more than you’d expect. You can carry her as a crossbody or you can carry her like a clutch. It’s fabulous. The second Nunoo that I’ve been loving is a more recent addition to my Nunoo collection. Her name is Lin. The Nunoo “Lin” bag in black with silver hardware. She’s very chic and she’s what I’ve been using every day recently. She doesn’t have as much room as Saki, but I love that she keeps me in check by only allowing room for my essential essentials ha-ha. If you haven’t checked out Nunoo’s website, here you go: https://nunoo.dk You can thank me later!

Rare Beauty – I did a review on all the products I purchased from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty makeup line, so you can check that out if you’d like to know more of my thoughts! I do want to point out two products that I’ve been wearing the crap out of since purchasing them though. The first is the With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm in the colour Thankful. I absolutely love this lip balm. It’s the perfect wash of colour for every day. It’s the one I’ve been gravitating towards the most lately and I can’t get enough of it. The second is one that I’ve tried to find excuses to wear whenever I can. It’s the Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in Inspire. It’s such a beautiful colour! I love it so much! I never thought I’d love a red as much as I love this. If there’s a chance or any reason for me to wear a red lip, I’m reaching for this one. It’s so lightweight (you forget you’re even wearing it!) and the colour is just the perfect shade of red.

Laneige Lip Mask – Am I the only one that didn’t know lip masks were a thing? This kept popping up for me on the Sephora website so I was like, “Okay, okay I’ll add you to the cart!” Boy, am I ever glad that I did! It’s definitely not a necessity. Lip balm is sufficient. But if you want to treat yourself or give yourself a little bit of “oomph”, I say get this Laneige lip mask. It smells so yummy! I put it on before bed and I wake up with smooth (and kinda plump!) lips. It’s so satisfying! In a way, it makes me feel like my best self. It’s a great pick-me-up!

Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop White Cheddar Puffs – As I said earlier, our girl is trying to be nice to her body. Of course, that college life of eating junk food for breakfast is still kind of there so I’ve had to find healthy alternatives. (I also want to say that I don’t eat these for breakfast by the way lol). These are the perfect replacement for Cheetos. I actually think I might like them better! They taste… real? I can’t think of a better word. They definitely taste better for me! I love them. If I were old me, I could inhale a whole bag in one sitting. New me is trying the whole portion thing or she would too lol. I pick these up at my local No Frills. Surprisingly, No Frills has added a whole new aisle for the healthy food enthusiasts and I’m digging it! If you have any healthy snack recommendations, I would love to read them in the comment section!

The Umbrella Academy on Netflix – A new season of “The Umbrella Academy” came to Netflix last month and I think it’s the fastest I’ve ever completed a season of a show. It’s so good. They are so smart with the way they end their episodes. They know exactly where to end it so that you keep watching. I love their dynamic. Those “siblings” and all their unique special talents are so refreshing. I love their differences and I love that they’re a family. I don’t really know what else to say! It’s just a great show and I love the storyline. It’s not like anything else I’ve watched.

Selling Sunset on Netflix – My roommate and I got so invested in this show. I feel like we went through all 3 seasons in a very short period of time. The drama. Oh boy, the drama!!! These girls are so notorious for causing such unnecessary drama. I felt like I was in high school again lol. I also feel like this is why I don’t have very many girlfriends. Life is too short to not let go of things. That’s all I have to say. If you don’t know what the show is about, it’s about the real estate agents that work at the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles. The company is owned by two men but the rest of the company is women. *Wealthy and beautiful women. After watching this show, I actually considered getting into real estate lol. The commission that these ladies get for selling ONE home is unreal. I would sell one house then leave. I mean, I would like to think that but it’s probably such a great feeling to make that much money that you get hooked and stay. Either way, if you like dramatic reality television, definitely try this show!

Now that concludes two months of favourites! I definitely could have shared more but then we’d be here all day. These are the faves of the faves and I hope you enjoyed reading about them. I can’t wait to share with you my favourite things for the month of October!

I hope you’re all having a great month so far. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian readers! Please stay safe and well!

Until next time,

Book Review: Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer

I know what you’re going to say. You’re going to ask me: why in the world are you still reading the Twilight series when you’re 27 years-old?! I mean, you have a fair point lol. BUT you guys don’t even know how obsessed I was during the “Twilight” era! I obviously have read the entire “Twilight” saga. Duh. No-brainer. I remember when I was in high school that I would sit in this chair in our living room and read every book (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn) from beginning to end, all in one day! I was hooked! Clearly, I still am!

I think what most people assume with “Midnight Sun” is that it’s just going to be a complete regurgitation of “Twilight“, but in Edward’s perspective instead of Bella’s. Like, basically an easy way for Stephanie Meyer to make more money. Again, a fair point. I will admit that I had my doubts. I went in not expecting anything special so my expectations were quite low. I know how the story goes. How different can it actually be?

I was SO SURPRISED at how much I didn’t want the book to end! I felt like I was in high school again! I found that I wanted to take my time with it because I’m assuming this will be the very last time I’ll be able to be a part of Bella and Edward’s world. I loved Midnight Sun. You heard it here. I mean, if you follow my Instagram, you probably already know how much I enjoyed it. I rated it a 10/10. I guess if this was Goodreads I would give it 5 stars.

There are a lot of things that you would never have expected. I don’t want to ruin anything for you because I do want you to read it if you’re intrigued. Edward had a lot going on that we didn’t know about. Bella didn’t know everything! Edward kept some stuff from her! The series of events are basically the same. I knew generally what was going to happen next, but Edward’s thoughts and what he was feeling at the time are not what I expected. It was interesting and I really think you guys need to pick up a copy. Go to your local library or pick up a copy at your local book store!

This book came to me at a great time. I needed an escape. I needed some cheesy teenage fiction. If you think you need an escape, check out “Midnight Sun” by Stephanie Meyer :))

If you want to know more about the book, ask your questions in the comment section below!

I hope you’re all having a great week! Stay safe!

Until next time,
