Outfits Of The Week

Sunday is upon us!!! I sound like a total nerd but I’m running out of ways to introduce these posts lol. It’s Sunday, so you guys know the drill. Another full week of outfits are here!!! This past week was fuelled by the inspiration that took over me when I researched Milan Fashion Week’s street style. If you haven’t read or at least seen the photos in my last blog post, go check them out! They’re worth it! I loved all the looks and I haven’t had the chance to take a look at the street style during Paris Fashion Week yet, but I’m ready to be even more inspired!

Here! Have a look at what I wore last week :))

Outfit #1: Kicked the week off with a “banger” if I do say so myself! I forgot about these beige high-waisted trousers. I think they’re such a great staple in my wardrobe. I can literally wear them with EVERYTHING. For this outfit I wore a printed blouse (I think it’s houndstooth? Or maybe just check print?) with my red animal print cropped denim jacket. Holy. That’s a lot of adjectives, but you can see what I’m trying to describe! It’s a lot. I don’t even know what animal it could be! Anyways, all the pieces that I’ve mentioned so far are from TOPSHOP. I tucked the trousers into my black cowboy boots from Eva B’s in Montréal. I really want to go back there and go thrifting again! It was so much fun and I loved their massive selection. Honestly, Eva B’s is HUGE, and also cheap! I highly recommend taking a look if you plan on visiting Montréal anytime soon. Even if you don’t like anything there, it’s a cute experience! To complete this look I added the pillow bag (I think that’s what I’m officially calling it!) from Durumi. I’ll spare you guys the gushing and the obsessing today. But if you know, you know lol.

Outfit #2: She’s wearing black?!! Those of you that know me know that I stay away from black because I think it’s quite boring and basic. I think black is what you wear when you don’t want to think about your outfit. I think my shift was 8:30AM-5:30PM and buddy, 6AM is too early for me to think about my outfit (I’m not a morning person). So yeah, I did it. I’m guilty. I wore a lot of black. I tried to make it different with my Durumi sweater vest though. And the pants I’m wearing, even though you can’t tell, are corduroy. I’m wearing black skinny corduroy pants and a black leather jacket. I think I mixed it up and made it a little more me with the different textures? Everything I’m wearing in this outfit is from TOPSHOP. I explained the boots in my last outfit and the bag is from SHEIN! As a side note and another reason why I don’t wear black, one of our regulars at Free People came in and told me that black made me look aged. She said I looked much older!!! I guess I’m never wearing black again.

Outfit #3: Another goodie. I know this also has a good chunk of animal print but it’s fine. I like animals. It was a wild week. It’s all fine. The skirt is from TOPSHOP. This moldy looking shirt/jacket is from Free People and I’m obsessed with it. If I could wear it every day, I would. We got my pillow bag here again and this time, a headband! I’ve been wearing a lot of headbands lately. You’ll hear a lot about them this week because *spoiler* they’re a monthly favourite! I’ve worn headbands so much within the last month because I am in desperate need for a haircut. I just can’t find the time to make an appointment/can’t fit it in my budget right now. For this outfit I swapped the boots for some black high top Converse sneakers and then added my go-to jewels: my “A” pendant necklace from Amazon and my paper clip chain necklace from Durumi (@thedurumi)! Oh, and these $10 gold hoop earrings from Joe Fresh! They’re such a good buy!!!

Outfit #4: You can’t keep me away from my cowboy boots. Am I ever going to find new boots? Probably not. My feet are small and it’s really hard to find cute boots in my size. My shoe collection is a lot smaller in comparison to the rest of my wardrobe and that’s just something I’ve learned to accept! No Carrie Bradshaw over here. Anyways, my friend described this outfit in a really funny way. She called it “a sexy Indiana Jones” and I totally get it. Not that I think I’m sexy in any way. I say stuff like, “Sunday is upon us!!!” Sexy? I think not. But the shirt (which is from Topshop) does scream “I’m going on a sick and crazy adventure/expedition”! Just like Mr. Indiana Jones! I bling’d it up with this chain belt I got from Topshop. The jeans are “Mom” jeans from the Petite section at Topshop about 3 year ago. The bag I chose was my coveted See by Chloe Mini Joan bag. She’s a cutie, isn’t she? I also wore ANOTHER headband. This one is from Free People and it’s yellow with this really cute floral print. I was attracted to it the moment I saw it and had to wear it right away (before even buying it) while I was working. If that’s not love, idk what is? Or maybe it’s stealing? Whatever lol.

Outfit #5: I love taking my boyfriend’s clothes. He claims that I take all his good stuff but I don’t think that’s the case. He was never going to wear this shirt any way! This shirt is from TOPMAN and it’s just this lightweight shortsleeved button down from last summer. I love the colours in it and I love the striped pattern. I wore it with this plain white long sleeve from Free People (I think we sell some pretty good basics at our store tbh), and these corduroy flared pants that I also purchased from the Petite section at TOPSHOP (this section changed my life). For some pizazz, I added this thrifted chain belt and my metallic platform hiking booties that I got on sale from TOPSHOP years ago. They gave me a bit of a Prada vibe so I scooped them for like, $50. For a bag, I wore my green shoulder bag from Durumi! I love this little guy. There are a lot of variations of this bag but I have not come across anything in this colour and I love that. Oh, and you can’t tell in this photo but I’m wearing yet another headband!

That’s everything that I wore last week! I was really inspired this past week and I hope you guys can tell. If you can’t, then that’s embarrassing. I hope that maybe these gave you a few ideas for your outfits? If you didn’t like any of these, don’t worry! I’ll be back next Sunday with another full week of fresh looks!

Until next time!

Fave Looks: Street Style at Milan Fashion Week

Omg, ohmygod, OH MY GOD. Holy smokes, guys! I have never been more inspired in my entire life!!! I was not expecting to fall in love with Milan and their street style but this year, wow. I cannot believe how much I loved every single look. Like, they were doing everything right in Milan! THAT was fashion (if I do say so myself). It was pure art and I love the life that I felt from just looking at all these images. I know I sound like a crazy person but this is my passion, and it’s weird that I felt the things that I felt when looking at all these beautiful photos! The colours, the silhouettes, and the balance. I’m so in love. This is why fashion is so important to me! I don’t even know how to articulate my feelings. I don’t know how to put my admiration into words either than “wow”. Milan takes the cake.

Take a look at *some* of my favourites!

While searching for street style pictures (reminder: these photos are not mine!!!), I came across articles saying that the street style might have been better than the actual fashion shows! I know this could be a little insulting to the designers, but the looks were just so good. I love the self-expression and the creativity, and this makes me so excited for Paris Fashion Week! I can’t believe that it’s the final week of Fashion Month!!! Milan has by far been my favourite for street style looks (sorry Copenhagen). After scrolling for hours late one night looking at all these photos, I think I’ve been much more inspired in terms of the way I dress lately.

If you want to see these outfits inspired by Fashion Month (Milan in particular!) follow me on Instagram @tinyintoronto!

NEXT STOP: Paris Fashion Week!

Hope you’re all having a great day!

Until next time!

Outfits Of The Week

Last week was my first full week back at work so (obviously) I have outfits I wanna share! I only have 4 outfits instead of 5 because during this past week we had a statutory holiday! It was nice and I kind of needed it to get back into the swing of things after my vacation. I’m back to my regular routine now and although I miss the sun very, very much, I know that Summer will be here sooner than I know it. When you see last week’s outfits, you’ll notice that I’m a little conflicted with my outfit choices. I wanna dress for Summer but it’s still Winter so I have to keep most of my skin covered, so as a way to welcome Spring/Summer I’ve been wearing a lot of lighter colours lol. Will this manifest Spring/Summer? I’m hoping so.

Here’s what I wore last week!

Outfit #1: Another reason why I’ve been wearing a lot of lighter colours if so that I can show off my tan (let’s be honest lol). I started the week inspired by Fashion Month. I saw some similar outfits amongst the collection of street style photos that I’ve gatherer over the past few weeks and I absolutely love that I could recreate the look! I wore my Copenhagen graphic t-shirt because Copenhagen has been my favourite Fashion Week so far. I wore it with my woven/knitted midi skirt that I purchased from Topshop last year. It came in a set but I like to wear them separately. I honestly love the options that a set gives you! I highly recommend getting at least one for your wardrobe. You could even get a suit (because according to my research, they’re going to get even trendier)!!! Speaking of suits, I wore this oversized blazer from Talize (a thrift store) on top of the look and I absolutely love the shape of this thing. I know a lot of people might see it as something way, waaaaay too big for me, but I love the look and I think it’s so chic. Power shoulders are cool, no? I think I’m going to have this blazer for at least a few more years. The best part is that it was only $12! For accessories, I wore this pearl headband that I picked up from Amazon. It was super cheap and I was super hesitant to buy it because I wasn’t sure if I was going to have enough confidence to wear it, but I wear it at least once every two weeks! If anything, it gives me confidence! It’s my pearl crown and I love it. For a bag (because we all know I can’t go without one), I wore this new bag I picked up from Durumi (@thedurumi on IG). If you’re new here, Durumi is my obsession. It’s this cute little Korean boutique on Queen Street West that I absolutely can’t get enough of. You don’t know me if you don’t know how much I go to Durumi. I literally have to visit them at least once a week. It’s crazy. I had looked at this cute little pillow bag when they first got it and I wasn’t sure about it so I didn’t take it home right away. But then I kept seeing it pop up on my Instagram feed! It was like, haunting me! I immediately messaged Durumi and asked if they had any left in black and they said they only had ONE. They were amazing and kept it aside for me, and I honestly could not be happier! It’s so cute! I’ve been wearing it every day since!

Outfit #2: Really looking like a Summer gal here. I tried to tone it down with this fluffy bucket hat, did it work? The bucket hat is also from Durumi (#sorrynotsorry). I wore this top that my aunt in the Philippines gifted me when my family and I visited them in October 2018. It fits me so well and I wish I knew where she got it! I also wore my white “Mom” jeans from Topshop and my Little Burgundy boots! I think what’s special about this outfit is all the layered jewelry I wore. A lot of it is from Mejuri, there’s a necklace from Free People, and then I also wore the jewelry that I absolutely have to wear every day or I’ll feel naked. If you’ve seen my latest IGTV video, I talk about maybe recording a video about my every day jewelry pieces! Let me know in the comments if that’s something you’d like to see!

Outfit #3: I stayed at my boyfriend’s place which is why this is in a different setting than normal. I love his mirror because it’s so big and I don’t have to bend my neck to fit my face in the photo. Something on my list of future investment pieces is a new full-length mirror. If you have any suggestions for a good/affordable full-length mirror that kind of matches my aesthetic, please tell me! I chose this dress because it was only one thing to pack and an item that wouldn’t wrinkle in my bag. I get so many compliments on this dress that I never want to let it go. It’s from the Petite section at Topshop. I ordered it online during a massive sale and it was only $20. Honestly, it’s probably the best $20 I’ve ever spent! I love how easy it is and yet, I think I still look fashionable! With this dress, I wore my brown cowboy boots that I also thrifted from Talize. I added another headband that I purchased from Amazon. It’s black, velvet and padded. It’s definitely a current staple in my wardrobe! Headbands just add something more to my outfit, and I think it also hides the fact that I’m due for a haircut real soon.

Outfit #4: I talk about Saturdays being a busy day for those in retail because that’s when most people are off and want to shop. This Saturday was nothing different. I try to dress comfy if you don’t already know. When I think about dressing for Saturday, I think about my sneakers and how to create an outfit around them. This time I wore my “Crop” jeans from Topshop. They’re like my second favourite pair of jeans. I just love how wide they are! They aren’t restricting like most of my other jeans. I tucked my Fleetwood Mac graphic t-shirt (which is also from Topshop) into them and added my “Bonfire” cardigan on top. I love this chunky cardigan so much. It’s definitely one of my favourite pieces that I have from Free People since starting my job there. The sneakers that I chose to wear are these Adidas ones that I got last year from SSense. I ordered them from their online website and it was so quick and easy (and I also love their selection of sneakers) that I want to order another pair soon! I’m thinking about a sporty pair of New Balances?

Anyways, that’s it from me! That’s what I wore last week and I hope you’re happy that we’re back on regular scheduled programming lol. I do wanna say that since going on vacation and relaxing/doing nothing, I feel like my mind has had the rest that it really needed. I’m feeling so refreshed and now so motivated! I have so many ideas that I have jotted down and can’t wait to share with you guys! Keep an eye out for it all! I have a new series I’m working on and that’s all I’m gonna tell ya!

Until next time!

Fave Looks: LFW Street Style (Feb. 2020)

The second week of Fashion Month has come to an end and now I’m here to share with you all the looks that I loved in London. Again, I really wish that I could physically be there. It’s honestly a dream to participate in the entire month. It seems exhausting but I feel like it would be the best experience of my life! It’d be worth it! There’s so much creativity and so much inspiration. I feel like it’d also give me an opportunity to really express myself because I’d be surrounded by likeminded people.

This year in London, I found that there wasn’t very much coverage. Do we not care about London fashion as much anymore? According to those that I follow on Instagram, many didn’t attend and are waiting for Milan and Paris Fashion Week instead. Why is that? Is London just the unfortunate soul situated after NYFW, and therefore lies on the week where everyone just needs to take a break before getting back into it? If so, that’s such a shame! Although looking at these street style looks, I can see that there wasn’t as much going on. I mean, I had like a million looks saved from the previous fashion weeks that I followed compared to this one. I did still see some great looks though! There are a lot of things I can take away from the outfits I loved in London so I’m just going to share them now.

I’m noticing a lot of looks with elastic or belts around the ankles. I’m not sure where it originated or the meaning behind it, but I’m really curious about it! They kind of look like chic ankle shackles? Of course just without the chain in the middle. I’d like to try the look but I’m also a little concerned that it might shorten me (even more lol). What are your thoughts?

Another observation I had was that there are a lot of textures! I love textures! I love adding dimension to an outfit. It gives people more to look at. I also loved the colours I saw. I like how London street style is a bit more colourful and daring than New York. Maybe I’m wrong but I just noticed that they mix patterns and colours more. I found that New York was very simplistic, monochromatic and neutral. Again, this is just what I see! I wasn’t there and I’m just going by the photos!

I’d like to hear any of your observations! Let me know in the comment section below!

Next stop: MILAN FASHION WEEK (I’m excited!)

Until next time!

January 2020 Favourites

Hey everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day! I have the first monthly favourites post of 2020 for you today! I’ve also decided to do something a little different this year. These posts won’t be as detailed because I’m going to have a YouTube video of me talking about my monthly favourites as well! Here’s the video and if that doesn’t interest you, feel free to keep reading!

  1. Dumpling bag from SHEIN – I’m sure I’ve talked about this bag enough because I’ve had it for a couple of months now. But I thought that it wouldn’t be a favourite if I didn’t officially make it one here. This is my cute little crossbody/clutch that I ordered from SHEIN. It was $30 and I love it so much. It’s kind of in the shape of a dumpling, which is why I’ve called it my “dumpling bag”. I also like, love eating dumplings so I feel like this is just an all-around perfect bag for me.
  2. Thrifted Mat & Nat – It was love at first sight when I stumbled upon this bag from across the counter at Value Village. I had to get a closer look at it and ultimately, I just had to have it. It was the only thing I purchased that day and I feel like it’s worth all the best thrift finds combined because I haven’t stopped wearing it since! It’s this beautiful shoulder bag that reminds me a bit of a Staud Moon bag (just in terms of shape)! It has this rustic feel to it with these gorgeous studs. I am just so obsessed and I can’t wait to pair it with my Summer looks this year!
  3. Innisfree face masks – Literally obsessed with these guys. I got my first batch of these face masks late November and I loved them so much, I asked for more for Christmas! I honestly need a few of these around the house at all times because they’re such a great pick-me-up! They make my skin feel so refreshed and renewed afterwards. I love them!
  4. Knitting – I started knitting almost three months ago and I am currently on my second ball of yarn! I’m trying to complete a scarf that I had hoped to wear this Winter, but I don’t know if I’m going to have it finished in time! I’d like to wear it at least once. That’s my goal.
  5. The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn – I promise you that I will have a book review for this book really soon! I owe it to this amazing read to give it a proper review and a better summary than I normally give. That being said, I need to figure out how to explain this book without giving all the exciting bits away! I’ll figure it out, I promise. Hopefully I’ll get to post it within in the next week!
  6. New Balance sneakers – I’ve talked about these a lot in my “Outfits Of The Week” posts! If you are new here, these were a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and are officially my new favourite sneakers. These have also made me a huge New Balance fan. I want more colour ways and styles. They’re just so light and so comfortable, and so trendy right now! If you don’t follow trends, get them for the comfort because they’ve changed my work life.
  7. Laneige Lip Glowy Balm – I could eat this but I feel like that’s not the purpose of it. I borrowed this from a friend at work when my lips were out of control and I fell in loooove. It healed them right away! I had to buy my own at Sephora and I haven’t stopped using it ever since. I probably apply it way more than I need to but I swear you would do the same if you were to try this! I honestly recommend it if you want a yummy and reliable lip balm for the rest of Winter.
  8. Little Women – Although it was nominated for 6 Oscar awards and only won one, I still am absolutely in love with this movie. It’s 100% in my “Top 5 Favourite Movies Of All Time”! If you haven’t watched it, I want you to! It’s so heartwarming. Like I said in my video, it made me feel all of the emotions. It was a real adventure and at the end, it had me sobbing inside the movie theatre. It’s a beautiful remake! I really want to buy the DVD even though I don’t even use my DVD player. I just want to physically have it, you know? I just loved it that much!
  9. YOU Season 2 – I know, I know. The show isn’t good anymore. I’ve read a lot of backlash for the second season but I didn’t think it was that bad! I read the books and I don’t think they’re following them anymore, but I feel like I need to see how everything ends. Like the very end.
  10. @chewiethechi – THE CUTEST DOG ON INSTAGRAM RN. You need to go and look at his face! I am obsessed with this dog and can’t stop reposting him on my IG story. I know some of you will think he’s not the easiest on the eyes but that’s what I love about him!

Now that you’ve read a bit about my favourites for the last month, consider giving my video a watch (if you haven’t already)! I’m a bit of a dork/fool so you can at least take it as an opportunity to laugh and make fun of me aha-ha.

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Until next time!

Fave Looks: NYFW Feb. 2020

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK. I think I’ve decided that I would like to be in New York next year for this. I would just love to just be in close proximity to all the excitement! If I could even catch a glimpse of all the influencers that inspire me in one place, I’d be the happiest girl in the world!!! NYFW finished yesterday and I have so many looks saved on my phone that I can’t wait to share them with you. Have a look!

Overall, I think I’m going to say that I still think Copenhagen has the best street style. I really like the sophistication that NYFW brings but that’s just not me! There were a lot of minimalistic, monochromatic, and tailored looks that were worn this year. I saw a lot of neutral tones, leather, and wide silhouettes. I like the idea of wide silhouettes because everything naturally fits me in an oversized way anyway lol. Collina Strada was probably my favourite show. It was colourful and fun and out-of-the-box! The collection was also sustainable! Here are a few photos from the show (That weren’t taken by me! None of these photos are my own!!!)!

If you want to know more of my thoughts, let me know! I’ll include them in the next post :))

Next stop: London Fashion Week!

Until next time!

Fave Looks: Copenhagen Fashion Week Jan. 2020

I thought I’d slip in something fun! Last week (if you didn’t already know) was Copenhagen Fashion Week! I have loved paying attention to these shows and the street style in Copenhagen for about 3 years now. Copenhagen is 100% on my list of places I want to visit before I die. I think they have their own sense of style that I find so unique! It’s fun! It’s different! I find it very inspirational so I thought I would share with you some of my favourite looks. I’m definitely planning on using many of these looks as inspiration for my own outfits in the future. If you wanna see a post where I recreate some looks, let me know in the comment section below! Now have a look at what I’ve saved! (*Warning* there’s a lot lol)

Aren’t they just magical?! I love how they push the envelope a bit. Everything is so cool and there are a lot of pieces that I would like to add to my own wardrobe. Like maybe I need an all mint look? I’ve actually been obsessed with this colour and want to add a mint piece to my wardrobe but I don’t know what! A sweater? A dress? A jacket? I also love that clogs are having a little moment, as well as the strawberry print! I’m on a major hunt for a white lace collar with or without the blouse attached. Are they called dickies? Please let me know if you know where I can find one!

NYFW is starting today and I think I might do the same and pick out some of my favourite street style looks from New York. I can also share my favourite shows based on what I’ve seen online? What do you think? If time allows it, I would absolutely love to come up with some looks that I would wear if I were ever blessed with the opportunity to attend. How does that sound? Let me know if this interests you!

Until next time!
