March Favourites 2022

I’m back! And it’s April, so HAPPY APRIL! Another month has gone by which means I have another set of favourites to share with you. My sister had her second baby, the Oscars happened so I was watching a lot of movies all month, I read some of the best books I’ve read in a really long time, and I think I’m starting to love getting dressed again? It sounds funny because a lot of people that know me would probably find it hard to believe that I ever stopped loving getting dressed. But recently, I’ve been planning outfits and getting excited about what I’m going to wear. I’ve also been taking a lot of mirror selfies of my outfits at work, which I haven’t done in a really long time. Maybe it’s the weather getting warmer? I think it might also have to do with the fact that we’re sort of seeing an end to the pandemic now? *knocks on wood* Before it felt like I was getting dressed for the sake of getting dressed, and that’s not me. I know we’re sick and tired of talking about the pandemic but it’s affected so many. I’ve lost the energy to express myself and I’ve lost sight of what makes me happy/makes me feel good. Fashion makes me happy. Writing these posts makes me happy. I think a lot of us, like myself, just continued to do things out of habit. And I think I’ve finally realized why I love certain things and why I continue to do them. It feels good!

Anyways, despite a busy month, I do remember a few things that I loved most throughout the month of March. I think that if I’m missing anything, I’m sure I’ll mention them in a future monthly favourites post. And if I can’t remember them now, did I really love them that much anyway?

Here are my March favourites!

1. Brown EVERYTHING – This was not planned, but I don’t really think I plan my favourites. Becoming obsessed with the colour brown was just very unexpected. I gravitated towards a lot of brown this past month and I don’t know why. I got two brown leather jackets, brown trousers, and even when shopping, I noticed that everything I picked up/preferred was chocolate brown. Like right now I’m thinking, chocolate brown nail polish? What I think I love about the colour brown is that it’s a great alternative for black and white. It’s a new option if you wanna stay neutral. I don’t know how long this brown phase is going to last (I’m thinking probably throughout this transition to spring/summer), but I’m here for it. What do you think of wearing brown this season? Part of me thinks it also reminds people of poo lol.

2. Bridgerton: Season 2 – I would have binged all of this the day it came out (Friday, March 25th), but my sister and I decided to wait and watch it together when I came to visit. I LOVE this show. I will say that I preferred Daphne’s story over Anthony’s (there’s just no one like Simon, am I right?), but the whole production is what I love most. The costumes, the music and the set design is absolutely mesmerizing! Like, those big houses and the way their interiors are decorated are absolutely stunning. I kind of wish I lived to experience that period. The way that society worked is kind of bonkers. Women 100% should have had more rights. But if we were to eliminate all of the problematic societal norms, I think everything seemed so much more romantic, whimsical, and beautiful. Everything was so romanticized. But maybe it’s all a facade? I have some second thoughts now lol. Let’s just say, on a surface level perspective, the show is gorgeous. I can’t wait for season 3! I’m going to need to read the third book of the series ASAP. I think it might be Eloise’s love story that’s next – exciting!

3. Crochet pieces that I made this month: Leg Warmers + Cat Beanie – I’m honestly really enjoying having crochet projects completed monthly. It’s so rewarding! This past month I made my very first pair of leg warmers! They’re pink, chunky, and so warm. I’m obsessed with how cute they look. I’m pretty happy that they’re trending again. I don’t know how long I have until it’s too warm to wear them, but I’m very much tempted to make some in every colour. I also completed this striped beanie with cat ears. It was so fun to make and I got some cute selfies while wearing it so if I never wear it again, at least there’s that. I also think temperatures are getting warm enough to no longer need a beanie. I’ll probably just save it for next winter. Also: I’m way too excited not to mention my current project so I’m just going to quickly say that I’m making a BLANKET!!! There’s this crochet blanket that was seen on an episode or two of Euphoria that I saw someone recreate on TikTok, and I was instantly inspired. It’s going to be so much work but I think it’s going to keep me busy throughout April. Hopefully I’ll finish it and share it with you next month!

4. The Inheritance Games: Book 1 & 2 by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – I don’t know if this is going to be posted before or after my book review, but man oh man, you need to read these. I read them so fast because I literally couldn’t put them down! I would pick up these books any chance I could get. It’s been so long since I’ve found a series that makes me want to come home from work, make a tea, and sit on the couch and read until 2AM. It’s one of my favourite things to do and there’s really nothing like it. It’s hard to explain the feeling of being so wrapped up in a story unless you’ve experienced it yourself. Has this ever happened to you? It happened to me with both of these books and I don’t want to wait until August for the 3rd one! Thinking about it actually makes me sad lol. I won’t tell you too much plot-wise, but if you like Cinderella stories with puzzles, mystery, romance, and 4 handsome boys with brains and a sense of humour, grab these books now.

5. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood – Normally, I have one book in a monthly favourites post, but here I am with three! I had such amazing luck with reading material this past month that I’m worried it’s downhill from here. What if nothing can top these ones? I must read more and find out! Send me your recommendations, please! To explain briefly, this book was about a romance between a student and a professor. They’re both in the medical field. It’s a fake relationship turned into something much, much more. I know it sounds cheesy, but I haven’t read anything like it. I enjoyed it so much. It also got a little steamy at parts so don’t say I didn’t warn ya lol.

6. Eloise Jordan Johnson (MY ONE MONTH-OLD NIECE) – I met my niece last week and she’s PRECIOUS. I don’t even think precious is enough to describe her. She’s an angel! I’m so excited for us to have another little girl in the family, and to watch her grow. When I went back to my hometown to visit my family and help my sister with her two kids, I felt like it was something that I needed. I was there for 6 days and being surrounded by them, and having my niece and nephew keeping me (very) busy was really good for me. Family is important and being with them simply reminds me that I have so much to be grateful for. My little niece and nephew are the cutest kids. I do get baby fever whenever I’m around them. They’re so sweet and pure. They fill my heart with joy. I most definitely have biggest soft spot for them because I literally can’t say no ha-ha – they’re just too cute! But my sister is so lucky to have such blessings, and I hope that when I’m ready to have children that I get just as lucky.

7. The 94th Academy Awards/Oscars – As much as I was disappointed in the Oscars this year (very few of the nominations truly wow’d me tbh), it still remains one of my favourite annual events. I love movies, as most of you all know, and it’s so fun to see all my favourite actors and actresses get dressed up and recognized for their hard work. This year was so controversial with all the Will Smith and Chris Rock business. I’m not going to get into it because I feel like the rest of the internet has said enough. I really hope that we just learn and be better going forward, and hopefully next year is better. Regardless of what happens, the Oscars will always be something special to me. Did any of you watch? I am so happy that CODA won Best Picture! That movie made me sob.

8. Freshii – This is a last-minute addition to the favourites list because as I’m writing this, I’m craving a Pangoa bowl from Freshii. I’ve bought a few on my break at work last month, and I also had one while I stayed with my sister (my tiny hometown just got a Freshii, it’s actually crazy lol). I don’t know why I love them so much. I think they’re just fresh (at Freshii? Who knew lol)? They beat the cans of soup that I normally eat at work for lunch, that’s for sure. I always add chicken to my Pangoa bowl because it’s more filling for me. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it! I also just love photographing it, is that weird? I appreciate all the pretty colours!

Another month for the books! Official farewell to March 2022! I can’t believe how fast the year is going by. Only a few more months and my birthday month will be here! Is it too early to be excited? I don’t have anything planned yet, but I know I can always expect the best things in June. Comment down below and tell me your favourite month of the year!

I hope you’re all having a great week so far!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

February Favourites 2022

Happy March! We’ve started a new month and that means it’s time for a new set of favourites! If you’re new to my blog, welcome! And something I love to blog about are the things that I’ve been loving monthly. At the start of a new month, I like to share the things that I discovered or rediscovered and enjoyed most during the past month. Today I’ll be sharing everything I loved throughout the month of February. I’ve got quite a few exciting things to share. It’s always interesting to remember how short February is. To be honest, it was a little difficult coming up with a decent amount of favourites. February kind of flew by for me. Did it fly by for you? We’re already in our third month of the year!

Anyways, here are my February faves!

1. Smoothies – My roommate left me her Magic Bullet even though I’ve never made my own smoothies before lol. So I thought that since it’s here, why not try it? This will come as no surprise but for the past month I’ve been making all different kinds of smoothies, and I’ve been LOVING it. It’s funny because when I love something, I kind of love the crap out of it. Basically, until I get absolutely sick of smoothies, I can guarantee you that I will have one almost every day. Got any smoothie recipes that I should try? I’ve just been buying a mix of frozen fruit, and adding a combination of the following: bananas, Greek yogurt, and oat milk. I thought about protein powders but I have no idea where to start. I’m not really looking to gain anything either than something healthy and delicious!

2. People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry – I reviewed this book in my last post. If you read that, you know how much I enjoyed reading this book, and how much I highly recommend it! It’s probably my favourite book that I’ve read so far this year. It was just everything I needed. I think one of my absolute favourite genres when it comes to books is romance. It might have been how I started loving books to begin with! Actually, I don’t think there was much romance in Junie B. Jones novels lol. All I’m trying to say is that this book came to me at the right time, and maybe that’s why I loved it so much. If you’re looking for a good book to make you love love again, try this one!

3. Crochet Flowers – Henri Purnell is someone I recently discovered on YouTube. I think his video where he crochets a bouquet of flowers just popped up on my home page! If you want to watch it, I’ll link it here: Crochet Flower Bouquet by Henri Purnell I now follow him on Instagram and love everything that he crochets. I’ve never been that crazy for flowers because I don’t like that they die so quickly. I just take photos of them whenever I go on walks ha-ha. It seems like a waste of money to me! Why buy an expensive bouquet of flowers only to watch them sit in a vase and die throughout the week? I mean, if you have the money to spend, I guess it’s a different story. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that crocheting these flowers in February really solved all my problems. I have a little flower arrangement that’s never going to die! How great is that?! They’re really easy to make. All you need is wire, yarn, a glue gun, and basic crochet skills.

4. Poshmark – When I post this, it will be the day before I share some exciting news. You’re hearing it here first: I’ve partnered with Poshmark Canada!!! They reached out to me wanting to partner and I was more than happy to. I was able to pick a few pieces that I wanted off their app and style them in a Reel that like I said, will be up and ready to watch tomorrow. I can’t wait for you to see it! I managed to pick up 4 great pieces that I’m excited to style in a number of different ways. When I was browsing the Poshmark app for these pieces to style, I didn’t realize how much fun it could be to basically thrift online. You all know how much I love thrifting. This has made it a whole other ball game. I’m OBSESSED. I have so many other pieces saved on Poshmark to buy later. I found a ton of amazing vintage pieces. I also posted a lot of clothes from my own wardrobe to sell. I really think that I’m going to be using Poshmark to sell old pieces, and then use that money to buy the pieces on my Poshmark wish list. This way I feel like I’m not even losing money! If you would like $15 off your first Poshmark purchase, use my code “tinyintoronto”! Click here for $15 off!

5. Granny Square Balaclava – February was fashion month. It’s probably one of the most exciting months for me. I can’t attend any of the shows but I’m satisfied with just browsing the street style online. The outfits are always so fun and creative. They inspire me to mix up my wardrobe and try new things. I can’t begin to explain to you how much I enjoy it – I love it so much! There were a couple of photos of this one woman that I didn’t recognize at NYFW. She was wearing a balaclava made with crocheted black and white granny squares. It looked absolutely amazing so obviously, I recreated it. Here are the photos of this mystery woman (if you know her, let me know! I’d love to see her Instagram ha-ha):

It’s starting to get warmer and rainy here in Toronto, so I don’t know how long I have to wear the one I made. I guess there’s always next year. Here is the balaclava I made myself:

A blog post of me wearing it is coming soon!

6. Oscar Nom: King Richard – I feel like I’ve already told you that I watch as many Oscar nominations as possible before the actual award show. This year the Oscars will be live on March 27, 2022. I’ve been pretty good at tackling my list so far. There are a few that I might have to watch in theatres. God, when was the last time I watched a movie in a theatre? I honestly can’t even remember! Anyways, King Richard was one that stood out to me last month. It’s about Venus and Serena Williams’ father, and how the girls got to where they are today. It was so well done. I loved it. I hope Will Smith gets an Oscar for his role.

7. Knits – I asked my boyfriend if he noticed me wearing anything more than usual when I was trying to put together my list of February favourites. He said, “You’ve been wearing a lot of knits lately.” He is not wrong. February, or I guess winter this year in general, has been much colder than I remember. I’ve been layering as much as I can, but I think something I’ve kept gravitating towards is my collection of knit sweaters. They really are just really great pieces for winter. They absolutely do keep you warm (they’re not just for aesthetics lol). I purchased this beautiful blue knit sweater from work last month, and wore it on Valentine’s Day. I am so in love with it. It’s such a pretty cable knit sweater. It’s called the “Dream Cable Crewneck Sweater” and I got it in the colour “Blue Parrot”. It comes in 6 different colours! If you’d like to take a look, I’ll link it here: Dream Cable Crewneck Sweater

8. Free People “Brooks Chelsea Boots” – With the way winter has been, I needed to find some better boots. Yes, it’s freezing cold. But it’s also been snowing a crazy amount. I had a literal snow day this year (I had to stay home from work)! I have not seen this much snow since I was a little-er girl! There were snowbanks taller than me! I mean, it’s probably not saying much since I’m tiny, but they were HUGE snowbanks. I knew I needed some different boots. If not proper winter boots, something with tread. That’s when I remembered that Free People gifted me the “Brooks Chelsea Boots” in December. I sprayed them with some of that leather protectant stuff and I’ve been wearing them almost every day since. They’re not the warmest, but they get me from point A to point B without falling on my face.

There you have it! Another monthly favourites post of 2022! I hope you enjoyed this batch of faves and if you did, let me know if you try to crochet some flowers or watch King Richard, etc. I would love to discuss them :))

I hope you’re all having a great week!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

January Favourites 2022

There’s just something exciting and fun about sharing my favourite things with you. I think these posts have to be my *favourite*. I’m really glad I thought to start this up again for 2022. How about you? Do you like them as much as I do? I like them because they’re fun to look back on, and they’re great for referencing. Maybe in a couple of months from now I’ll look back and ask myself, “When did I get hooked on IKEA cookies? When did this obsession start?” And then I’ll go back to this post and know it was January!

I’ve got a little bit of everything to share with you today. There’s food, a bit of an apartment update, a show, books, and more! So let’s get into it, shall we?

My room is still a work in progress, but look at my cozy bed!

1. My Bed – One of the fortunate things about having your old roommate move in with her boyfriend is that she no longer needs her bed, because they can share his. I bought her old bed off of her. When my mom and littlest sister came to visit, my mom cleaned the mattress for me and we bought fresh linens, pillows, etc.! Let me remind y’all that I had been sleeping on a twin bed that I’ve had since college, and I graduated from college approximately 6 years ago. I’m scared to do the math in case it’s been longer. Ugh, I’m all of a sudden feeling old. Anyways, I’ve been cramped in a twin bed for as long as I can remember. My roommate had a double bed so this is a complete upgrade for me. Sleeping in a full/double is a whole different lifestyle! I get excited to go to bed! Being 4’11”, I now have SO MUCH SPACE. And I bought some really good pillows from IKEA, too. It’s so cozy and I feel like a queen.

2. Insecure on Crave – My best friends Julie and Jericho had been talking about this show called “Insecure” for a couple of months now, and I had never really gotten around to it. I wasn’t committed to anything (aside from Euphoria and And Just Like That) this month, so I thought this was the perfect time to start it. I finished ALL 5 SEASONS in like, 2-3 weeks. The episodes aren’t very long but I honestly couldn’t be stopped. I loved this show so much. It was one of those shows where you were like, “Okay, just one more!” And by the time you were okay with taking a break, it was 2AM. These kinds of shows are always the best. I have to admit that I wasn’t impressed with the series finale because I feel like there were a lot of unanswered questions, but I guess that’s okay. Julie, Jericho and I are hoping there might be a movie in the making. If you haven’t heard of Insecure, I highly recommend it. Jericho kind of said it perfectly: “It’s exactly what I needed to watch as I’m going into my 30s.”

3. We The Free Soho Convertible Sling from Free People – Can backpacks be cool again? I always think of myself in high school when I think about wearing a backpack. I got this green leather one sent to me from Free People and it doesn’t look like your stereotypical backpack at all (which I kind of love/appreciate). I think if I’m ever going to wear a backpack, it has to look like a purse. The functionality of a backpack is probably incomparable. You can carry so much more and it’s all on your back. You also have your arms free to do as they please. I feel like this isn’t news because it isn’t. I just rediscovered backpacks and I’m loving it lol. I want another one that’s a bit bigger so I can fit my lunch and take it to work. Is this a sign that I’m getting older? Am I sliding into my “uncool” stage of life? It just seems more practical to be carrying one nice big leather backpack instead of a purse and a tote bag to work every day. A leather bag also lasts longer and looks better with age! Am I trying to justify another bag purchase? You betcha.

4. These Violent Delights Duet by Chloe Gong – My last blog post is a book review on these two novels so I won’t say much more about them. This duet is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet in Shanghai in the 1920s. It’s super interesting and original (which is surprising because it’s a retelling). Think Romeo and Juliette with a side of monsters? They’re the first two books Chloe Gong’s ever published, and they’re great! I recommend them. They’re definitely my favourite books that I read this month. If you like a little bit of mystery, romance, historical fiction, and fantasy, these are perfect for you.

5. Crochet (balaclava, miniskirt & scarf) – Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I crocheted quite a lot this past month. I’ve got my groove back! They were smaller projects because I find them a lot more rewarding. I like that instant gratification. If I crochet a sweater, it might take the entire month and I don’t know if I’m ready for that. This month I crocheted a balaclava, a miniskirt, and a skinny scarf. These are all pieces that I have had on my list of things that I want to crochet for a really long time. I’m so happy I finished them! The balaclava is probably the piece I’m most impressed by. I honestly can’t believe I made it. It could be because the yarn is so pretty. It was a Christmas gift and I now see how much of a difference the quality of your yarn can make. The miniskirt is something I’m dying to actually wear in public, but it’s been like -30 degrees outside so I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon. Miniskirts are going to be huge this year. *Micro* miniskirts are reemerging as well, and I don’t know how I feel about that. The skinny scarf that I made is something inspired by all these photos I saw on Instagram. Mine looks more handmade but I think I love it more because of that. It’s one of a kind! I love that I’m crocheting a lot again and I can’t wait to see what I make in February.

6. Cookies from IKEA – I never really gave IKEA’s food/snacks/whatever a thought because I was ignorant. They’re so cheap! How can they be any good? Boy, was I ever wrong. I got two sleeves of cookies from IKEA out of curiosity. I ended up trying to make them last for as long as I could, and now they’re gone and I’ve been dreaming of them since. I want more!!! I don’t drive so I don’t go often. Ever since the pandemic started, unnecessary bus or subway trips seem silly. Like, I only take the bus or subway to get to work or visit my boyfriend. Because of this I made a pact with my boyfriend that whenever one of us goes to IKEA (we both just recently got our own places), we have to pick up some cookies. They’re SO YUMMY. I got these Ginger Thins With Almonds & Biscuits With Almonds. I’m going to sound like an old lady but they taste BOMB with a cup of tea. I might be a grandmother at heart but these cookies are *chef’s kiss*, I kid you not. If you’re my friend and you’re reading this, please pick me up some IKEA cookies when you go? I’m obsessed!!! I think I have an obsessive personality and I have fully latched on to IKEA cookies. We’ll see how long this lasts until I’m sick of them lol.

7. Cooking (?!) – At the beginning of the year, or the beginning of this past month, I made a list of resolutions. Cooking was on that list and I am proud to say that I have stayed true to my word! I know that there are 11 months left to the year, so who knows how long I’ll be able to keep this up, but I’ve been COOKING! I’ve also been kind of baking? Who am I? If you know me, I hated cooking and baking. It seemed like a waste of time to me. I really felt like I could be doing so many other things than taking the time to make a nice meal for myself. It turns out that it’s nice to make a nice meal for yourself lol. I really like it and I find it rewarding knowing that I made it all by myself. I haven’t done anything extravagant but I’m making baby steps, and that’s a lot compared to where I was at last year. I made my first roast in my slow cooker, spaghetti and meatballs, chocolate cake in my rice cooker (yes, my rice cooker), and pancakes from scratch (I ran out of boxed pancake mix and had no other choice)! Like I said, nothing jaw-dropping. I’m ready to start branching out in February. I also catch myself looking at recipes for fun now??? Hello??? Again, maybe I’m getting old. She’s turning 29 this year and all these changes are happening! It’s only January and I’m not sure if I’m going to even recognize myself by December. Am I having an early mid-life crisis? Is this what this is?

Okay, so there you have it! That was everything I loved and enjoyed during the month of January. I really can’t complain much about 2022 so far. How about you? What did you love last month? Share with me some of your favourite things in the comment section!

I hope you’re all safe and doing well!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

Monthly Favourites: November 2020

Hiya! Okay before you call me out on it, I’m aware we have like a week and a half left before it’s January. I’m sorry! I recorded this video forever ago with the intention of having it up by now but like I said in my last post, I’ve been stupid busy! I really hope you’ll forgive how late this is. It kind of seems irrelevant since I should be talking about December favourites by now but I just couldn’t waste the “footage” lol.

I hope you enjoy reading this blog post anyway and like I mentioned, there’s also a video I recorded if you’d just like to watch that instead!

Here’s the video!

Now if you rather not hear me ramble about these things awkwardly to a camera, please continue reading ha-ha! These are my favourite things from the month of November!

Crocheted rainbow sweater – Writing this on Dec. 21st makes me feel like making this sweater was forever ago and no longer exciting. However, I’m still super proud of it! The only reason it’s not as exciting is because I’ve made so many new pieces since then. It’s still one of my absolute favourite sweaters that I’ve made, and I’m actually making two more for some supportive friends! I can’t believe they’re paying me for these, it’s a little surreal. I have a blog post of me wearing this sweater if you want to check it out!

Nunoo “Bobby” bag – In the month of November, I ordered another Nunoo bag. Are we surprised? I’m also trying to fight the urge to buy another for Christmas, after I said that I was getting this one for myself for Christmas. How many Nunoo bags can you get yourself for Christmas lol? I’m not joking, I’m obsessed. This “Bobby” bag has been my go-to bag for the past two months because it’s gorgeous and chic, but carries EVERYTHING I need it to. It can even carry a small book! I love this bag so much that I’ve recorded a new “What’s In My Bag” video that I’ll probably have up in the new year. But stay tuned for that!

Belif Aqua bomb makeup removing cleansing balm – Well that’s a mouthful, eh? I picked this up in the Sephora sale and actually ended up returning it! Not because I didn’t like it, but my boss had a brand new one that she wasn’t going to use. So I feel like me and this product were kind of meant to be? I got her for free and I’m telling you, she’s the best at taking off my makeup. It kind of has a Vaseline-like texture that breaks up every little bit of makeup on my face – even my waterproof mascara! I always have trouble taking of my waterproof mascara and this one does the trick! I’m super impressed with it. I may actually purchase it once I run out.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask – I’ve had my eye on this mask for so long that I decided to treat myself since Sephora was having a 15% off sale. I’m a sucker for great packaging. I love this little tube. It’s so chic and I love to just stare it on my dressing table. Am I the only one that does this lol? This mask can be used as a primer, moisturizer, and an overnight mask! I’ve only used it as an overnight mask but I will most definitely try it underneath makeup sometimes soon (when I have a reason to wear makeup lol). It feels a little tight on your face when you go to bed, almost like an ointment. But when I wake up the next morning, MY FACE IS FREAKING SOFT. If there’s a feeling like I’m obsessed with, it’s soft and hydrated skin. I live for a clean and healthy face. Especially during lockdown(s) this year, I’ve been taking the time to really take care of myself and I’m really starting to see it pay off. Take care of your face, folks! Drink lots of water, and you should also try this mask!

The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui – I did a full book review on this book a little while ago. You should be able to still find it so I’m not going to go into full detail on what this book is about. It’s a graphic novel. I loved it so much. It rekindled my love for graphic novels that I had in high school. There’s just something so great about a story that can move you through pictures and fewer words. This book moved me and really reminded me of the importance of family. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an easy read but a great story. Thi Bui won an award for this one!

Matthew McConaughey and Greenlights – Another book that I read in November was Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. Let me first say that Matthew will forever be a favourite on his own. That man, I don’t care if some of you think he’s no longer a hottie, I believe he’ll be a hottie forever. I can’t pinpoint what it is about him but I love him. Maybe it’s that he’s unapologetically himself? I’m attracted to that. When reading his book, “Greenlights”, it was like he was talking to me. It was such a great book to read. He compiled all these journal entries over the years and literally made a book out of them! It’s fantastic and I highly recommend it.

The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix – I’ve watched this series about three times now. I just love the story and the way it was filmed. It’s so well done! I didn’t know there was a book so I picked that up and plan on reading it soon. It’s about a young orphan girl and her natural talent as a chess player. She is brought to an orphanage after her mother kills herself in a car crash with her daughter in it. The daughter obviously survives but she’s lonely and troubled, and finds a purpose after she insists that the janitor teaches her how to play chess in basement of the orphanage. The show demonstrates the challenges there are for women in a male-dominated profession and let me tell you, she kicks ass lol. I asked for a chess board for Christmas. It is so inspiring and it made me look at chess in a whole new light. It’s so intriguing and takes serious thought and strategy. I love to challenge myself and put my brain to work so I’m excited to start playing. Right now, I’m just using the app that I downloaded on my iPhone.

The Crown on Netflix – One thing that I didn’t know until last month is that I’m actually a little obsessed with The Royal Family lol. I found this out last month while rewatching The Crown because a new season came out. I also got super obsessed with Princess Diana. I watched everything there is about The Royal Family on Netflix – it’s insane how much there is to watch on there! The Crown was my favourite because there’s like 4 seasons now and it’s like retelling everything that happened. Season 4 introduces Diana and her crazy relationship with Prince Charles. I am so late to all of this information but I can’t get enough of it now. Like, both of them were having affairs?! There’s so much drama and I’m guilty of being someone that’s a tad nosey. If you like drama and have never paid attention to The Royal Family like myself, maybe you’ll get sucked in like I did if you start watching The Crown! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Wow! That’s another *late* monthly favourites post complete! The next time that I have one of these to share will be next year! Is that crazy or what?! Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? I’d love to hear them in the comment section below! One of my New Year’s resolutions is to lose this lockdown weight so I can wear my jeans again ha-ha.

I hope you all have the best Christmas that you can have under these circumstances, and have an even better New Year!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

Monthly Favourites: October 2020

It’s that time again! Another month of this wild year has gone by and although it feels like the world is falling apart, I’ve managed to stay positive and find little joys to share with you. I encourage you guys to stay positive because although there are a number of terrible things going on, I still believe that there are good people out there. There are still things to be happy about and grateful for. I know it can be tough to find light in all this but you must because life is too short! It’s too short to dwell in negativity and there’s only so much that you can control.

Now enough with all the heaviness!

I have a YouTube video that I use posted of me talking about the following favourites. If you would prefer to watch that, here’s the link:

If that doesn’t interest you, you can continue reading!

Here are my favourites/the things I loved most during the month of October:

Vagabond boots from Little Burgundy – I feel like I’ve talked a lot about these boots so I’m going to keep it short and simple. They’re the “Tara” boots by Vagabond and they’re basically a platform Chelsea boot. I’ve been wearing them in most of my past outfit posts because they go with absolutely everything. I love them so much! They give me a little boost and with being 4 feet and 11 inches tall, this is well-appreciated. Vagabond is a fantastic brand when it comes to quality and comfort. They have never disappointed me. I purchased my Vagabonds at Little Burgundy and I tagged them in my Instagram post, and they included it in one of their e-mails – it was so cool! Here’s a photo of the e-mail:

I was so shocked and (I’m not going to lie lol) it made me feel kinda special. My boyfriend took a fab photo and seeing it in an e-mail that gets sent out to a mass amount of people is something I never expected. I printed it lol.

Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer – There’s a whole book review/blog post on this book but to sum everything up: this book was GREAT. If you are an original Twilight fan and you read the books when they came out, I think you’ll understand why I enjoyed this book so much. It reminded me of my high school days where I would curl up with a book from the Twilight saga/series and read the entire book in one day. I probably sound like a huge nerd but I loved it so much. Even though Midnight Sun is basically a retelling of Twilight but in Edward’s perspective, I still learned new things! There was so much that I didn’t know about Edward and although I knew where the story was going and knew how it ended, I still couldn’t get enough of it. I didn’t want this book to end! If that doesn’t tell you something, I don’t know what does. I really think that those of you that are my age and have never read a Twilight book wouldn’t like it though. Nostalgia plays a big part.

Crocheted Harry Styles cardigan – I’ve talked about this cardigan loads as well. I mean, these are favourites for a reason! In my last outfit post I talk more about this little project, but oh my god – I am so happy that I learned how to crochet. It’s so rewarding! Making this Harry Styles cardigan has taught me so much that I feel like I could crochet anything. Although there are a few things that I would have done differently, like scaling the pattern/instructions to fit my body better, I am super proud of myself. I can’t believe I made this thing! The feeling of being able to wear something you made all by yourself… Well, there’s nothing like it. If you’ve ever thought about crocheting, you should definitely try it! If I can do it, you can do it.

Hats from Free People – I am a hat girl through and through. I have a really early childhood memory of my dad telling me that I’m a hat girl. We’d go shopping and he’d place the most random hats on my head lol. He bought me this one outrageous winter hat in the most disgusting green colour. It also had multicoloured pom-poms on top of it. I LOVED that thing. I made my dad know how much I loved and appreciated it by literally wearing it to bed! Guys, I slept with this hat on lol. Now almost twenty years later, I still am tempted to sleep with my new hats. I got 3 new ones this past month! I know it’s a lot but I couldn’t resist. I got them all from work/Free People. I got two berets and a new bucket hat. I’m wearing all 3 in some of my latest Instagram photos if you’d like to give them a look. My Instagram is @tinyintoronto! I also try them on in the YouTube video above if you wanna fast forward through that and see them.

Hoop earrings from Mejuri – By now you guys are probably well aware of my addiction to Mejuri jewelry. For the longest time I had been eyeing some of their hoop earrings for every day, and it wasn’t until I noticed that a lot of my current hoops are tarnishing that I really considered just biting the bullet. So I bit that bullet and I am so glad that I did. I got two pairs. I’ve rotated between the two of them ever since I got them. They’re now the only earrings I wear! I think they were such a good investment and I believe that these will last much longer than any off my other ones that have already tarnished. The earrings that I got were their chunky hoop earrings and their tube hoop earrings. I got them both in gold and I think they’re the only earrings I need! I totally recommend them.

Emily In Paris on Netflix – I’ve talked about this show so much. I make a reference to this show whenever I can, and I think that even I’m starting to get annoyed with myself. I love this show! I’m sorry! It’s so good! I want to go to Paris so bad (and I’ve also said this to you guys before lol). But I highly recommend this show if you love fashion, Sex and the City, travelling, or Europe/Paris. It was such a great escape that I’ve watched the entire first season 5 times now (and counting). I also just found out today that a second season is FOR SURE happening and I can’t contain myself!

Duolingo App / learning FrenchEmily In Paris and multiple customers from Montréal lately have encouraged me to work on my French. I studied French in elementary and secondary school so I have a decent understanding of the language. I can understand when a person is speaking French to me, but I have a terrible time trying to speak French back to them. I’m hoping that with help from Duolingo that I’ll build my confidence and understanding so that I may soon be able to carry a full conversation in French. I’m at least hoping so! Fingers are crossed! I’ve taken at least 10 minutes out of my day to learn some French through Duolingo for about 50 days now. I have a 50 day streak on the app and I think that’s absolutely nuts. I can’t believe I’ve stuck to it for this long! If you are looking to learn a new language, I highly recommend Duolingo. They have so many other languages on there and I find that they make learning a new language far less dreadful.

Love Island US Season 2 – You guys probably think I have the worst taste in shows at this point. I swear there are shows that I like that are actually good. For example, “The Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix! I finished the show in ONE DAY but I had already filmed my October favourites video so it was too late to include it. I am for sure going to mention it in this month’s favourites though. Love Island is a little different than The Queen’s Gambit because it’s a reality show. This US version was recorded at the top of a hotel building in Las Vegas during our pandemic. The basis of the show is that there are a bunch of men and women that are single and confined to this rooftop to find love. They “couple up” and try to find love with one another and if they don’t find love, they run the risk of being sent home. It’s honestly just a lot of drama. There are some people that make you question if they’re really there for love or just doing whatever it takes to stay on the show the longest. Some of them do find love though. There’s one couple that is my absolute favourite. I love Justine and Caleb so much that I follow both of them on Instagram now (#JALEB). As bad as this show may sound, it was really addicting. The show is really good at making things interesting/stirring the pot. Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

That’s it, guys! That’s another monthly favourites post for the books. We’ve got two more months of this dreadful year and I think we’re going to make it! I really hope that the world starts to look up. I’m currently writing while we wait for the results of the US Presidential Election and I believe we’re in store for some good change (update: turns out I was right! YAY BIDEN HARRIS!).

Here in Ontario we’re dealing with a record number of new COVID-19 cases almost every day for the past few days, and I think we might be making our way towards another lockdown. It’s such a terrible and scary situation to see the numbers rise but we have to stay positive! And do our part! Please wear a mask and stay home if you can!

I hope you’re all safe and well and until next time,

– Tiny ❤

August + September Faves

I don’t know if you guys have noticed (because I think I’m the only that likes these posts lol), but I haven’t done a favourites video or blog post in a REALLY long time. Two months to be exact. Why? I guess life got a little crazy. I was planning my sister’s baby shower and I went back to work at the beginning of August. I was working full-time during the month of August so I found myself being too tired to really focus on anything else. After six months of being at home and doing nothing, it was a huge adjustment to get back into work again. Unfortunately, I’ve gone down to two shifts a week again but now I can get back to stuff like this! The fun stuff! I know I say this every time but I really do think I have a great mix of favourites to share. The only disappointment is that I don’t have a book to share this time! I can guarantee that there will be at least one for next month’s favourites though, don’t you worry!

Now on to my favourites from the last two months!

Also, like always, here’s a YouTube video where I talk about all of these favourites if you’d prefer to watch that than continue reading!

Apple Watch – I don’t want to be one of those girls, but I really thought I was going to have a hard time warming up to the Apple watch. I only thought this way because I was worried about it clashing with all my outfits! Fortunately, that wasn’t the case! I picked up this strap that I think is so me and goes with everything in my wardrobe. I found it on Etsy and I’ll link the seller for you here: Now if I thought I was going to have a hard time warming up to it, then why the heck did I buy it? Well since the pandemic started, I’ve changed the way I look at my overall health. I really want to treat my body better because I’ll be honest, before this pandemic I was eating like I was still in college. I was just eating the most unhealthy crap. I was ordering a lot from UberEats and just not conscious of what I was putting into my body or how much exercise I was doing. To be honest, I wasn’t exercising at all. Slowing down and not working (and gaining some weight) really showed me the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I’m definitely not going to be young forever so I better start now!

Free People Sunset Park Cardi – I’ve worn this in a previous outfit post so I won’t say too much about this cardigan. But I will say that it’s probably my favourite cardigan right now! Honestly, it’s the perfect cardigan for the weather right now. The colours scream fall. It’s so cozy. I get compliments on how cozy I look whenever I wear it. It’s just like wearing a blanket! But make it fashion? Or at least appropriate for the public? I got this cardigan from Free People, we no longer have it at our store but it’s definitely still available online! Here’s another link:

Crocheting – I don’t think I’ve talked about this very much on my blog, but I’m trying to recreate that infamous JW Anderson cardigan that Harry Styles wore. I saw a girl on YouTube (Liv Huffman) make it and then get featured in VOGUE magazine and was like, “HELLO?!” I mean, it’s too late for me to be featured in Vogue LOL, but I definitely want to try this! So I’ve been working on it for a couple month’s now and I can confidently say that we’re getting close to the end! I hope it turns out okay so I can share with you the results. (You’ll know it turned out horrendous if I no longer speak of it after today lol)

Nunoo Bags – Are we even surprised at this point? It’s been almost a year and a half since I’ve started talking about these bags and I honestly feel like I mention them every month. Am I getting redundant? Predictable even? I can’t help it! I like what I like, and Nunoo bags are my kryptonite. I have two more additions. One I’ve talked about more than the other. It’s the powder blue bag that I named Pearl. She looks like a clam but I think her real name is Saki. The Nunoo “Saki” bag in powder blue. She’s gorgeous. We love her. She fits more than you’d expect. You can carry her as a crossbody or you can carry her like a clutch. It’s fabulous. The second Nunoo that I’ve been loving is a more recent addition to my Nunoo collection. Her name is Lin. The Nunoo “Lin” bag in black with silver hardware. She’s very chic and she’s what I’ve been using every day recently. She doesn’t have as much room as Saki, but I love that she keeps me in check by only allowing room for my essential essentials ha-ha. If you haven’t checked out Nunoo’s website, here you go: You can thank me later!

Rare Beauty – I did a review on all the products I purchased from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty makeup line, so you can check that out if you’d like to know more of my thoughts! I do want to point out two products that I’ve been wearing the crap out of since purchasing them though. The first is the With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm in the colour Thankful. I absolutely love this lip balm. It’s the perfect wash of colour for every day. It’s the one I’ve been gravitating towards the most lately and I can’t get enough of it. The second is one that I’ve tried to find excuses to wear whenever I can. It’s the Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in Inspire. It’s such a beautiful colour! I love it so much! I never thought I’d love a red as much as I love this. If there’s a chance or any reason for me to wear a red lip, I’m reaching for this one. It’s so lightweight (you forget you’re even wearing it!) and the colour is just the perfect shade of red.

Laneige Lip Mask – Am I the only one that didn’t know lip masks were a thing? This kept popping up for me on the Sephora website so I was like, “Okay, okay I’ll add you to the cart!” Boy, am I ever glad that I did! It’s definitely not a necessity. Lip balm is sufficient. But if you want to treat yourself or give yourself a little bit of “oomph”, I say get this Laneige lip mask. It smells so yummy! I put it on before bed and I wake up with smooth (and kinda plump!) lips. It’s so satisfying! In a way, it makes me feel like my best self. It’s a great pick-me-up!

Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop White Cheddar Puffs – As I said earlier, our girl is trying to be nice to her body. Of course, that college life of eating junk food for breakfast is still kind of there so I’ve had to find healthy alternatives. (I also want to say that I don’t eat these for breakfast by the way lol). These are the perfect replacement for Cheetos. I actually think I might like them better! They taste… real? I can’t think of a better word. They definitely taste better for me! I love them. If I were old me, I could inhale a whole bag in one sitting. New me is trying the whole portion thing or she would too lol. I pick these up at my local No Frills. Surprisingly, No Frills has added a whole new aisle for the healthy food enthusiasts and I’m digging it! If you have any healthy snack recommendations, I would love to read them in the comment section!

The Umbrella Academy on Netflix – A new season of “The Umbrella Academy” came to Netflix last month and I think it’s the fastest I’ve ever completed a season of a show. It’s so good. They are so smart with the way they end their episodes. They know exactly where to end it so that you keep watching. I love their dynamic. Those “siblings” and all their unique special talents are so refreshing. I love their differences and I love that they’re a family. I don’t really know what else to say! It’s just a great show and I love the storyline. It’s not like anything else I’ve watched.

Selling Sunset on Netflix – My roommate and I got so invested in this show. I feel like we went through all 3 seasons in a very short period of time. The drama. Oh boy, the drama!!! These girls are so notorious for causing such unnecessary drama. I felt like I was in high school again lol. I also feel like this is why I don’t have very many girlfriends. Life is too short to not let go of things. That’s all I have to say. If you don’t know what the show is about, it’s about the real estate agents that work at the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles. The company is owned by two men but the rest of the company is women. *Wealthy and beautiful women. After watching this show, I actually considered getting into real estate lol. The commission that these ladies get for selling ONE home is unreal. I would sell one house then leave. I mean, I would like to think that but it’s probably such a great feeling to make that much money that you get hooked and stay. Either way, if you like dramatic reality television, definitely try this show!

Now that concludes two months of favourites! I definitely could have shared more but then we’d be here all day. These are the faves of the faves and I hope you enjoyed reading about them. I can’t wait to share with you my favourite things for the month of October!

I hope you’re all having a great month so far. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian readers! Please stay safe and well!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

Monthly Favourites: July 2020

Welcome back, everybody! Another month has gone by and I have another bunch of goodies to share with you. I’ve got a great mix (I feel like I say this every time lol) and therefore I’m not going to babble for any longer. Here they are!

Ole Henrikson’s “3 Little Wonders” – I ordered the “3 Little Wonders” by Ole Henrikson when Sephora was having a Canada Day sale and boy, they’re WONDERful. Like the YTP Dream Mask, the texture of my skin is just unbelievably smoother. But my skin also looks really fresh and I’ve noticed that my pores are much smaller as well. I’ve been breaking out from wearing a mask at work all day, but if I didn’t have to wear one I think my skin would be in top notch condition! I really love these products and I wish they weren’t so expensive. A strong part of me thinks repurchasing them is definitely worth it though.

Youth to the People’s “Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask” – I’ve recorded a review on all the Youth to the People products that I’ve tried so I don’t want to say too much about this product. All I can say that is that it changed my life, and I’m obsessed with it. It’s honestly done so many great things for my skin. I feel like it’s helped with the texture and the hydration it provides is UNREAL. I highly recommend it! It’s just a thick mask/moisturizer that you can put on and leave overnight!

Antiquing – My sister and her husband moved back into the country and I visited them/helped them get organized a couple times in July. We grew up in the country and I haven’t really returned much since living in the city. I usually only go back for holidays and birthdays. Now that my sister lives there, I really get a taste of what life was like when I was younger. There isn’t anything to really do. It takes forever to get anywhere. I’m reminded that I need a license and a car lol. But what I do love about the country is their selection of antiques. My sister has the cutest antique store close to her new house and I plan on visiting it whenever I’m there now! I got the cutest home decor pieces, and now I’m just hooked on finding little treasures for my future home! I have no idea when I’ll be getting a home if it’s in the city though. Maybe if I win the lottery or marry rich lol? Either way, I’ve been loving antiques and if you wanna see what I picked up, watch the “July Faves” video I have on YouTube (link above)!

Long walks – For the entire month of July I went on walks in the morning for about an hour and a half. I would just put on some of my favourite shorts from Free People’s Movement line and walk at a steady pace. I realized a bit late that sitting around and not having any form of exercise in my daily routine would cause me to gain weight. I’m about 10 pounds heavier than I was before I was furloughed because of COVID-19. It’s the heaviest I’ve ever been and I’ve been super motivated to lose the weight and go back to the way my body was before. Unfortunately, gaining weight is much easier than losing it! But I bet you didn’t need me to tell you that lol. These walks have been really good for me. I like the routine in the morning. I think it’s a great start to my day and really sets me on the right track to having a healthy and positive day. Since I’ve been walking for over a month now, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my body and walking has no longer been a challenge for me. Yes, believe it or not, walking gave me a shortness of breath! But I’ve incorporated some jogging now and I am so proud of myself! I’ve also been changing my diet. I didn’t really think much about creating a healthier lifestyle before, but now I realize what all the hype is all about! I’ve honestly never felt healthier or happier.

Claw clips – I NEED A HAIRCUT. I know that hair salons are open now. The salon that I go to is open but I just can’t muster up the courage to go yet. Am I being weird? Since things have opened back up, I have been avoiding taking Toronto’s transit. I’m just not comfortable getting on a bus or the subway right now. Uber’s expensive. It’s a struggle to get to where my hair salon is located so I’ve just been putting it off! My hair is super long and I’ve run of ways to deal with it. My favourite way to deal with my hair is with a claw clip that I purchased off Amazon. No fuss, no muss! (What’s a muss?) It’s super easy and it keeps my a hair tamed and out of my way.

They Said This Would Be Fun by Eternity Martis – I’ve been a little disappointed with my reading habits lately or more so the lack there of. I just haven’t been able to sit down and thoroughly enjoy a book after reading this one! It’s nonfiction and based on Eternity’s university experience as one of few black women at a mostly white university in London, Ontario. This book was really eye-opening and I’m super grateful that it was picked for one of my book clubs. Believe it or not, racism is present in Canada and it’s just as bad as you think it is in the United States. Just because it’s not on the news doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I highly recommend you read this book because you can definitely learn something from Eternity’s story.

Nunoo bag (AKA Frankie) – My angel of a boyfriend spoiled me with this Nunoo bag for my birthday. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this bag a ton already but I had to make her a favourite even if it might be obvious. It’s the “Patchwork Donna” bag from Nunoo. I think of Frankenstein whenever I see patches so I’ve renamed my bag “Frankie” lol. I absolutely love her. I love the shades of pink, peach, and purple. It surprisingly compliments all of my outfits and I just can’t stop wearing her. Overall, I love any Nunoo bag but the fact that my boyfriend got me this unique/beautiful one says he really gets me. I’m going to treasure this bag forever!

That’s everything for last month’s favourites! I’m already looking forward to sharing the things I’m loving in August. Trying to be healthier and better to my body has really introduced me to a ton of new and exciting things and I can’t wait to share them!

I hope you are all safe, healthy, and well!

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤

~ June 2020 Favourites ~

Told ya it wouldn’t be long until I have another monthly favourites for ya! I’m super excited to talk to you about all the things I loved last month. June is my favourite month of the year because it’s my birthday month and it’s also when summer officially begins! I’m a huge summer lover and I love my birthday. This year I celebrated it a little differently. I had a few of my closest friends meet me at a park for a social-distanced picnic! It was so nice seeing their faces that I wanted to cry. You don’t realize how special and important people are to you until there’s a global pandemic and the government tells you can’t see them for months. I also saw my family for the first time in months and it was everything I needed. My little sister is pregnant with her first child and it was my first time seeing her baby bump in person. That made me really happy. I can’t believe I’m going to be an aunt! All in all, I think next to February (being the month I went on vacation to the Dominican Republic before Covid-19), June has a been the best month so far.

As per usual, I did create a corresponding YouTube video where I talk about my “June Favourites”. If you’d prefer to hear me talk about them, watch the video below! If you don’t, keep reading ha-ha.

Sun and sunscreen – My love for the sun is really like no other. I think you guys probably know that by now. The sun is my #1. The sun puts me in such a positive mood, and I love the sun even more when he/she gives me a tan. I go to the park every day to have quality time with the sun and in order to protect myself from getting burnt or worse, I’ve been wearing a lot of sunscreen. I’ve been using two different sunscreens. One for my face and one for my body. This one from Supergoop! is so lightweight and overall great. It’s a great primer for underneath my makeup, I love it’s gel-like consistency, and I think I would for sure buy this product again. The sunscreen that I’m loving for my body is this one by Australian Gold. It’s like every other sunscreen out there but I love the scent, and I also really love that they have aloe in it! I’m not exactly sure about the benefits from aloe (I know it’s soothing and helps sunburns?) but it makes me feel a little more comfortable with being directly under the sun. I wear SPF 50.
Free People cloud-shaped sunglasses and sunglasses chains – Something I’ve realized is that I have a strange obsession with sunglasses. I have a lot of sunglasses and I think I didn’t realize it until I was trying to find a specific pair the other day and I found TOO MANY all over my bedroom. I think I’m done buying sunglasses for a while. I mean, who needs another pair when I have theses cloud babies?! I absolutely adore these blue cloud-shaped sunglasses. They’re so fun. I’ll wear them any chance I get! What I’ve also been loving are sunglasses chains. They’re a cute little accessory that you can add to your sunglasses. I feel like by mixing and matching chains to different pairs of sunglasses, I’m creating so many different looks! I love it. I have three at the moment and I’ve recently been thinking about trying to make my own out of all my craft beads.
Pat McGrath “Eye Ecstasy: Sublime” eyeshadow palette – If you want to see me freak out over this eyeshadow palette, there’s a really funny IGTV video on my Instagram: @tinyintoronto! Honestly, my reaction in that video says it all. Pat McGrath’s eyeshadows are STUNNING. I can’t believe how beautiful they are. I really, really, really want to get a “Mothership” palette but the price scares me. It’s a lot of money. It costs $170 CAD. The second I’m blessed with a lump sum of money (idk how how this is going to happen btw lol), I’m definitely getting this palette. But since I’m not back at work yet, I probably shouldn’t spend that much on makeup I don’t need (although I have it sitting in my Sephora cart already).
Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson – The Black Lives Matter movement is finally getting more attention but not the full attention that it deserves. I encourage you to read this book to have a better understanding of what life is like for those that are black. It’s disgusting and not okay. It’s completely unfair that racism exists and we all have to learn and work on being better allies. This book is a true story and there are many similar stories out there. It’s heartbreaking and I cried while reading the book and while watching the movie. If you are white or white passing, you need to recognize your privilege and help fight for equality.
*PINK* Bose noise-cancelling headphones – I have always wanted a pair of noise-cancelling headphones and being stuck inside my apartment for 5 months seemed like a pretty good reason to finally get them. My birthday was also coming up so I thought that these would be the perfect gift to myself. I actually have a photo of me trying these headphones on at the Bose store from over 6 months ago. I didn’t think I’d actually get them at the time (because they’re expensive and didn’t feel like a necessity) but I feel like I must have known deep down that someday these headphones would be mine? It’s a little weird but I love them. I love that they’re pink! They couldn’t be more me. The quality is also amazing because I can’t hear ANYTHING when I have them on – it’s life-changing!!!
Chopova Lowena necklace – This necklace was talked about a lot in a previous blog post so I won’t say too much. I got this adorable cat necklace from this brand that I really admire from the UK: Chopova Lowena. It was a birthday present from my family and I’m SO obsessed with it. I want to wear it every day. I love pieces that are different and stand out, and this necklace is exactly that.
Friendship bracelets – You guys know I’ve been big on the quarantine crafts for months now. My latest obsession/hobby is making these friendship bracelets! I don’t know why but I’m so nostalgic lately. It could be the pandemic but all I know is that these remind me of summer during the early 2000s. Everything back then was so cute, so fun, and so pandemic-free. It was nice. I’ve known how to make friendship bracelets for years so this time around I’ve been specifically looking for patterns that are a bit harder to do. I love a challenge and I find that completing something that’s more difficult is so much more rewarding. Some patterns can be super hard though. There’s this sushi pattern that I really want to make but every time I go to start it, I get spooked! It’s next level. If you know of any unique or semi-difficult patterns that I could try, please let me know! I’d love to take a whack at it!
Lack of Colour hat – The funny thing about this hat is that I swear I had something similar when I was like, 5 years-old. Maybe it’s nostalgia but I’m so drawn to it, I don’t know what it is! I love it. I wear it mostly when I go to the park because its wide brim is just perfect for keeping the sun out of my eyes. It’s just a super cute and super fun hat that I want to wear as much as I can before summer ends.

That concludes another month of favourites. I feel like each month keeps going by way too fast. So fast that I can’t even keep up! July is almost over and I’m already going to have to start writing my “July Favourites” soon!!!

I hope you’re all having a great day. Thank you so much for taking time to read this post!

Enjoy your weekend!
