Current Obsession: UO Home

For all of you who didn’t know, I recently moved in with one of my best friends in our very own apartment. Since moving in June, I’ve been so so sooo obsessed with decorating and really making this apartment more like a home. Before this apartment, I was crammed in a house with four other girls/students and it didn’t feel like home at all. I know that I’ll be moving again sometime in the future, but for now, I really want this apartment to look nice and to be a reflection of myself and my roommate. So far, I’m STILL working on my bedroom. It definitely looks more like MY room than it did at the beginning, but there’s still so much more I want to do! This is where my current obsession comes in: Urban Outfitters. The “home/apartment” section on their website is something I find myself browsing almost every single day. I love love love everything on that site. I tweet about it ALL the time. I love the style, I love the home-y vibes. Everything is so cute and so nice – and also sooo pricey. Pillows, rugs, blankets, frames, jewellery holders, lights, and snow globes- they have it all! Heck! I WANT IT ALL. I bit the bullet and ordered an area rug from them about two months ago, and I’m still in love with it. I’m dying for a cute floor pillow to go with it!

I  don’t really know how to describe the vibe I get from Urban Outfitters’ home stuff. A lot may say it’s hipster, but I just think HOME. To better explain the things I like about UO Home, I’ve added a few photos that are “apartment goals” for me.

(Mom, if you’re reading this, can I get plants and pillows for Christmas?)

That’s all for today’s post! Are any of you nuts about home décor? Anybody else obsessed with Urban Outfitters Home? I can’t wait to finish my room, maybe I’ll do a blog post on it once it’s done!! Or a “Room Tour” video!! I’m super excited.

Hope you’re all having a good week so far!

Until next time,

A ❤

Love or Hate: Straw Bag

I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s Alexa Chung (I’m obsessed with her), but I’ve been really drawn to the look of a straw bag. If you don’t know me, I love bags/purses. So maybe it’s really no surprise that I love this new trend. I’ve seen photos with women with different versions of straw bags and I think their outfits look great! It looks so cute and chic! I feel like it looks stylish. I love what it adds to an outfit and I’m really contemplating on getting one myself. The big question is: is it worth it? I mean, I like the look of it and I’m sure depending on the style I get it, it could probably carry a lot of my stuff..

But then again, it’s definitely just a “trendy” piece. No one is going to be carrying straw purses come Fall/Winter. This is definitely just a new look for the Summer, and may or may not get more attention next year.

Therefore, I’m torn! Do I love the trend enough to get one? Or should I just pass and put my money towards something that will always be in style?

My other alternative is finding one at a thrift store. This way I get the satisfaction of having a cute, trendy, and stylish piece, but I don’t break the bank!

Here are some pictures of the trend. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below! Do you love the trend or hate it??

That’s all for today! I hope you’re all enjoying your Wednesday (:

Currently Craving

Currrently loving

Hey friends! This week’s post is all about what I am currently craving. Just so you know, there is no way I will ever be able to afford most of these things. I’m just dreamin’ ya’ll..  So here we go!

  1. Lace-up Sweater (Isabel Marant): I love the lace-up trend. I love tops that lace up the front but I haven’t quite found the perfect one for me or one that is in my price range. This cream knit sweater that laces up the front by Isabel Marant is gorgeous.. would I pay $1000 for a sweater? No.
  2. Chloe bags: I’ve decided that I am in love with Chloe. They just get me, you know? Chloe gets me. As a bag addict, I would probably purchase a Chloe Faye bag if I had the funds. I also love the Chloe Drew bag. Honestly, I would sell an organ on the black market for one of these bags. I am not kidding you.
  3. Newsboy caps (NastyGal): I’m a hat girl. I love hats. I have them hung up on my wall. What I am missing from my collection is an adorable suede newsboy cap, like this one from NastyGal. I think this style plays into the 70s trend and you all know how I feel about that.
  4. Plaid shirts (Isabel Marant): I don’t own a plaid shirt. If I am to be honest, I’ve always related plaid shirts to rednecks and never really considered them as fashion. I think with the right colours, plaid could maybe grow on me. The one in the picture is probably more me colour-wise. What do you guys think about plaid?
  5. Sneakers: I have my AF1s and I wear the crap out of them. I’ve been eyeing a pair of Nike Roshe Runs, preferably in black or in this cool design that I have in the picture. Sneakers are everyday shoes now and not to sound creepy, but I think Kendall Jenner wears sneakers with almost every outfit. I love her, and she rocks them. I wanna rock them too!!
  6. Knee-high boots: I think I’ve accepted that I will never be able to own a pair of these boots (keywords: I think). I really want a pair of black suede fitted knee-high or over-the-knee high boots but if I’m to be realistic, they’ll probably go to my thighs.

So there you have it, that is what I am currently craving. I hope you guys don’t think I’m weird, but if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you probably already do (baha!).

To all my Canadian friends (and anyone else who celebrates Thanksgiving this weekend), I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving! Eat lots of turkey! Happy Friday, and I’ll talk to you next week!

Current Obsession: Platform Sandals

Hello everybody! If you can’t already tell from the photo and title above, I have a current obsession with platform sandals. Being tiny (also known as: short or 4’11”), I need all the height I can get!! Not only for my sake, but for my boyfriend’s sake! He’s like a foot taller than me.

I am so glad platform sandals are “a thing” now because they’re easy to walk in, they’re comfortable and they give me the height I need. Here are some sandals that I was attracted to while browsing Polyvore. A lot of them cost an arm and a leg, but a girl can dream. I am particularly attracted to the lace-up sandals, although they could potentially become a pain in the butt to take on and off.. What do you guys think of the platform sandal? Too chunky for your liking? Sticking with the Birkenstocks this summer? Are you a flip-flop kind of gal?

Let me know in the comments below xo

Currently Craving “Spring Edition”

Currently Craving Spring Edition

Hey everyone! I’m back with a “Currently Craving” post! I can’t quite remember the last time I posted one of these, but perhaps that’s a good thing (teehee). Right now, all I’ve been thinking about is Spring and Summer and all the new looks to look forward to! I really want this leather vest that Cara Delevingne is wearing in one of the Topshop ads displayed at work. Currently, I’ve been also craving a pair of Quay Australia sunglasses. They’ve collaborated with Pretty Little Liars’ Shay Mitchell (which is how I first discovered them), and now everyone and their mom is wearing them! Honestly though, their designs are so nice and affordable! I just hope they become available in Canada so that I won’t have to pay the crazy $30 shipping fees. At first I didn’t like the idea of platform slip-on sandals, but they’re growing on me. I’ve seen some pictures with girls rocking them and I can’t believe I’m saying it, but they look great! They’ve completely swayed me in terms of this trend. When I first found out about the 70s making a comeback, my first thought was definitely whether or not flared jeans would make a comeback as well. Of course they are! Topshop has designed a Jamie Flare and I’m eagerly waiting for them to show up at my location sometime soon! I’ve also been loving the 70s prints, I’m sure you’re sick of me talking about them by now. This shirt dress speaks for itself! Last but not least though, I’ve been DREAMING (AND I MEAN DREAMING) of the skirt in the bottom left of this photo. It is the skirt designed by Alexa Chung for AG Jeans. Ever since Alexa’s line came out, I’ve been drooling over this skirt and how much of a perfect staple it would be in my wardrobe. Topshop (of course .. *embarrassed by how much I talk about Topshop*) made their own version and I WANT IT SO BAD. SO BAD. SO BAD. *end rant*

Currently Craving 02/14

Currently Craving Feb. 2015

It’s that time again. I have an urge to splurge!! If I could splurge, here are the things that I would get my hands on. I’ll start with the top left corner. Recently I have ventured into the world of the bralette. I bought a bralette AND THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE. I’ve seriously been missing out. I bought one in a nude shade and I love it so much that I think I want another one, but in black. Beside the bralette is this shirt dress that I have seen in many different stores lately. They’re not all similar but they all have the same idea. It’s basically an oversized dress shirt. There is one at Topshop but it’s awfully big and I know that I’ll be able to find a more affordable version somewhere like Forever21. Next are two Topshop items that have been haunting me at work. Honestly though, I can’t decide whether working at Topshop was a good or bad idea. It almost feels like my paycheques are going right back to the company.. Oops. This ribbed and cropped sweater is a fantastic layering piece and it’s light enough that I could probably pair it with skirts in the Spring. The jeans are easy. I want them because I don’t have a pair in this wash that fits me as perfectly as the rest of my Topshop jeans. I’m obsessed. The fact that the length and the fit is so perfect on me, I really can’t say no. It’s hard for little ol’ me to find clothes that fit, and jeans are essential! Next is the backpack. Oh me. Oh my. I really want a leather rucksack-ish backpack. I have a cute backpack but it’s white and structured. I want one that’s black and kind of slouchy. I want to be able to toss all my junk in it and throw it on my back. BOOTS! If you follow me on Instagram (@tinyintoronto), I’ve been thinking about boots a heck of a lot lately. Spring and Summer are coming, and then eventually Fall.. and I want the perfect pair of boots for all of those seasons! Does a pair exist? I know they have to be a neutral shade. I don’t know what style though. I’ve researched many different kinds of boots, like the boots that are popular and worn a lot. I haven’t really come to any conclusion yet. So if you guys have any boot suggestions, let me know in the comment box below! The last two items are little things. I’m kind of loving the ‘your nails but better’ shades of nailpolish. One that I’m surprised I don’t have is Essie’s ‘Ballet Slippers’. It’s a classic!! I’ve also just recently treated myself to a Pandora ring. This is a long story but the gist of it is that my fingers are the smallest fingers of life. I have baby fingers. I can never find nice cheap rings that fit me anywhere! So I checked Pandora with the little bit of hope that I had left and I actually discovered a place that carries my size! So I bought one, and now I want to fulfill all my ring dreams.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this month’s current cravings!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Currently Craving (XMAS EDITION!!)

Hey guys!! I’m back with another ‘Currently Craving’ post. I’m sorry, I seem to be always craving something. Am I a bad person? I have the worst shopping addiction. I just have zero willpower/self-control. Fortunately, Christmas is coming!! Which means I can hold back spending and maybe ask for it from Santa? If I were to send Santa a letter today, these are the things that what would be on my list.

‘Grace: A Memoir’ by Grace Coddington is a book that I have been wanting for a few Christmases now. I’m on a ‘fashion book craze’ (if that makes sense?). Basically, I’m addicted to fashion books.  If I get a few for Christmas, expect reviews! Not only are they inspiring and motivating but they also look great sitting on my dresser (lol). I’ve been eyeing a pair of white Nike Air Force 1s after seeing them all over Paris during Fashion Week. I love the clean look of them and I think they’ll be super comfortable to wear everyday. Third on my list is another purse (how embarrassing..). Of course I don’t really need it, it’s just something that’s been taunting me at work. The gray joggers are something I never pictured myself ever wanting. However, I think that with the AF1s they’d be great together as a casual outfit. I absolutely loove the camel color of the sweater, and I don’t own anything of this color in my wardrobe. I can never have enough sweaters (especially here in Canada), so a sweater for Christmas would be more than welcome! (It’d have to be a chunky turtle neck though, they look super cozy.) The last thing that would have to be on my Christmas list would be these beautiful lace trimmed shorts. I’m not quite sure how I would wear these yet, but I’m enchanted by them. If I can’t make use of them during this season, I could most definitely wear these during the spring/summer! – Ou! Ou! Can you picture them with tights, booties and a chunky sweater?! I sure can *wink*

So yeah, there’s the basis of my Christmas list. What about you guys? Currently craving anything? Is there anything specific that you would like from the jolly old man? You know the drill, please let me know in the comment box below (hehe, that rhymed)!
