I said there was going to be a recap, so here is the recap (even though it’s been over 2 weeks since Easter). I didn’t get to posting much in the past week because life has been nonstop/crazy. It’s all kind of a blur. I just remember being super tired every day. Work has been a lot and both of our families have been having birthdays, and having babies (I’ll explain more later). The whole reason behind this recap of my Easter weekend is because I don’t get many days off. If you know the retail life, especially when you’re a manager, you don’t get days off in a row, like barely. So I’m making a huge deal about this weekend and what I got up to because your girl lucked out, and by some miracle, had THREE days off in a row without having to use any vacation time lol. My boyfriend also had those exact same days off so I managed to spend some quality time with him that wasn’t just in front of the television watching Netflix (well, not as much).
Okay, now I feel like I’m building this up to be the best weekend of all time or something. It wasn’t that exciting. But it was everything I wanted it to be.
On Friday, it was more of a “get-your-much-needed-rest” day. My boyfriend and I were couch potatoes for most of Friday (which was what I needed), but we managed to finally have the time and energy to really plan out our trip to Italy – which is so exciting! Nothing has been solidified yet but we’re trying our best to have it sorted real soon. Later in the day, we met up with some friends for dinner and ate all-you-can-eat sushi. I love sushi and would eat it every day if it wasn’t so expensive. When we got home from sushi, we watched the latest episodes of Love Is Blind and then went to bed. Speaking of LIB, did any of you stay up and wait to watch the Live Reunion on Sunday? That was such a complete mess on Netflix’s part. I can’t believe we all had to wait an hour after it was supposed to start. I, personally, don’t think it needed to be live. They ended up recording it anyway, so what was the benefit of that? From what I’ve gathered, a lot of people got impatient and annoyed, and now my TikTok is full of people wanting to get rid of Nick and Vanessa as hosts? I feel bad, but I also get it. Will I watch the next season? Probably lol!

Saturday was the most exciting day. I love when my family gets together. It’s crazy to think that there was a time when we were all under the same roof every single day. I kind of feel like I took it for granted because now I would do anything to have us all under the same roof for even like, a week. Easter dinner was spent at my mom’s place. Mom made some Filipino dishes as well as a turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, etc. It was delicious and I definitely took home leftovers. Before dinner, I met up with my two sisters to do some thrift shopping. Thrift shopping in a small town just hits different. I feel like those that live in a small town aren’t aware of how great the pieces are that they’re getting rid of – which really works out for me ha-ha. Everything is also so organized and not as heavily picked through like here in Toronto. I made a TikTok of all my thrift finds that I accumulated in the past couple of weeks. If it’s something you’d like to see, follow me @tinyintoronto.

Another great part of Saturday was the opportunity to see my niece and nephew. They’re growing so fast. They’re also super innocent and adorable. I love to see them grow and to watch them learn. Eloise, my niece, is walking now! At the end of March, all she could do was stand up, and now she’s walking. It’s crazy to me. What’s also crazy is that as I’m writing this blog post, my brother is having his first child – I’m having another nephew! By the time I post this, my new baby nephew, Harlow, will finally be here. It’s surreal to be saying that. My little brother is a dad now?! I hope I get the opportunity to meet Harlow as soon as possible.

After a wonderful day catching up with my mom, my two sisters, my niece & nephew, and my brother & his girlfriend, my boyfriend and I headed home. I grabbed a mini egg cookie for the road and read my book (which is crazy good and I’m dying to talk to you about it). We also watched the sunset on the way home which was really nice.

The last day, Easter Sunday, was full of solid quality time between my boyfriend and me. I think we planned Italy a little more. I recorded a TikTok of me trying the new Rare Beauty tinted lip oils. I’ll link it here if you wanna see it. If you want to hear my thoughts on the lip oils (I’m not a beauty guru, but I’d do it), let me know in the comment section. After that, my boyfriend took some photos of my outfit for Instagram. We ate some leftovers from the previous day’s turkey dinner, and then I think we watched John Wick? I really want to watch the 4th movie that just came out, but I want to refresh my memory and the other 3 movies first.
That’s my long weekend recap. It was pretty chill but I enjoyed it a lot. I wish I had more weekends off. Maybe I’ll have more weekends off in the near future, but that’s hard to imagine if I’m still in retail. So I guess that would require a career change, and that’s not something I’m ready to stress about right now lol.
Happy Monday, and I hope you’ve all been well.
Until next time!
