OOTD: Carpool Drop-Off Zone

Hi! Just wanted to make sure I didn’t leave this week without a new blog post. Since it’s Easter weekend (and I managed to get the entire weekend off), I’ll be trying my best to create some new content. I also made plans to see my family for an Easter turkey dinner, and I might be booking my birthday trip to Italy(!!!). In the meantime, I have an outfit to share (kind of).

It’s starting to get a little warmer here in Toronto. When I say “warmer”, I mean that the sun is out more. The wind is still a little chilly but it’s definitely getting the Torontonians excited – including myself. I feel like during the winter we all hibernate, we’re completely covered from head-to-toe, and we lose that bit of self expression. Now that temperatures are slowly rising and the sun is out for longer, I think myself (and maybe yourself as well) feel like we have the opportunity to really start being creative again (because we won’t have to cover our outfits with an obnoxious winter coat for much longer). I feel like a butterfly ready to come out of its cocoon lol. How do I want to dress? Is it time to reinvent my personal style? What’s the vibe? What colours do I want to wear, or what trends do I want to partake in? It’s exciting!!! I’ve saved so much inspo on my Pinterest (maybe I’ll share it in an upcoming post).

I didn’t get the best photos of the outfit that I’m sharing today. But I think these shots give a good idea of what I’ve been loving while we’re in this weird in-between stage of winter and spring/summer. Let’s talk about dresses over jeans. I kind of love it. I know it’s not for everyone but let’s be real, it’s cute AND it’s practical: a) it adds dimension and layers to my look, b) it gives an interesting contrast between casual and formal and c) I won’t catch a cold because my legs aren’t out! It’s a win-win situation. I also want to find skirts that I can wear with pants because I’ve been seeing a lot of that on my feeds. I love a trend that’s cool and also comfortable. If I don’t have to worry about a gust of wind going underneath my skirt or dress and flashing my underwear, sign me up!

[These photos were taken outside of the subway station, where my boyfriend dropped me off before work (hence the title of this post). I think these photos are hilarious and it looks like he’s dropping me off on my first day of school or something lol.]

For this outfit, I picked one of my old TOPSHOP dresses and wore it over those new(ish) TOPSHOP Petite jeans that I wore in my last outfit post. I can’t tell you how much I love these jeans. They’re so comfortable and they’re the perfect length on me. They’re everything I was looking for in a pair of jeans and now I can’t stop wearing them. To those of you that are new here, they’re TOPSHOP’s “Dad” jeans. On top of the dress, I wore a cropped blue sweater from Ganni. I absolutely love this shade of blue. Blue is my favourite colour and although I prefer a lighter shade of blue, this shade is probably my second favourite. The coat I’m wearing is old TOPSHOP. It’s held up so well. It’s just this black coat with a navy faux fur trim. The shoes I’m wearing (which I don’t think you can even see in these photos) are those new ASICS that changed my life. I haven’t had terribly sore feet since getting these sneakers – I totally recommend getting a pair. The headphones are Bose. My bag is the medium Marc Jacobs “The Tote Bag” that my boyfriend got me for Christmas, in the colour “wolf grey”. I wear this bag every day.

CROPPED CARDIGAN – Ganni
DRESS – TOPSHOP
JEANS – TOPSHOP Petite
NECKLACE – Omnis Studios
SNEAKERS – ASICS
BAG – Marc Jacobs

That’s about it! Keeping it a little short and sweet this week but like I said, I’ll have a few blog posts ready with all this time off. I’ve got a weekend recap in mind, another book review, maybe the post on the rosette trend? OH! I just got my hands on a few of Rare Beauty’s new lip oils, would you like a review? I’m not a makeup guru but I think I’d enjoy sharing my thoughts on them! Let me know what you think in the comments.

I hope you’re all having a fab long weekend. If you celebrate Easter, Happy Easter! Hope the Easter Bunny is good to you.

Until next time,

– Tiny ❤
