Here it is! The second piece that I crocheted is a sweater vest. I think that because my first ever project was something as big and as time-consuming as a full-on cardigan, I can basically make anything as long as there’s a pattern or a YouTube video to follow! The cardigan gave me a lot of experience to help me tackle future projects but I still learned so much from making this sweater vest. For example, creating the v-neck was a bit of a hurdle that I had to overcome but I reversed some bits that I learned and it worked out! It was fun and so rewarding! I followed this YouTube video by Emma P, I’ll link her video here:
Her video was extremely helpful. I just made a few of my own twists like making the v-neck a bit deeper, and made it with a rib stitch instead of with single crochets. It was super easy! I made it in 3 days. I wore it right away. I love the huge shoulders because that’s a trend right now. I have a vest/top that has a similar silhouette from Zara with shoulder pads and the similarities make me so proud! I’m just so happy with how it turned out! I finished it at 2am and FaceTimed my boyfriend in awe. I couldn’t believe it.
Again, I just wanted the main focus to be on my new crocheted piece so I wore the same jeans that I wore in the outfit with my Harry Styles cardigan. They’re the “Balloon jeans” by Levi’s. I wore a plain white t-shirt that I’ve had for a while from TOPSHOP. I wore the same chunky gold hoops from Mejuri as well. But I wore new sneakers this time! These are Gola’s that I ordered from the Free People website: http://www.freepeople.com. I love the mesh detailing and the pink-y/nude colour. The touch of blue at the back and the gold lettering are also super cute (I don’t know if you can really see them). I think they match my sweater vest perfectly!

The more I think about it, the more I think I want to make more of these sweater vests in different colour ways! Should I really sell them? What do you guys think? Would you buy one? Do you think there’s a point or should I just keep them all for myself lol? Part of me feels like I’ll lose the fun in it but part of me is interested in a side business. I’ve kind of always wanted to start one (it’d be putting my business degree to use!) and I think it’d be an amazing feeling to see other people wearing something you’ve made yourself.
Let me know what you think in the comment section!
Thanks for reading! Hope you’re all well!
