Sorry to do it to you again, but I’m making another Emily in Paris reference with my title here ha-ha. I can’t help it! My roommate just started watching it so I’m kinda watching it again (for maybe the fifth time). No complaints here though! You know I’m totally obsessed.
For those of you that don’t care about the show (which I’m assuming is most of you because it’s really not that big of a deal lol), “la plouc” means “hick” or “hillbilly” or “country bumpkin” in French. They call Emily at the office “la plouc” for a little bit because she’s the American.
Anyways, I thought it was quite fitting in regards to the outfit that I’m about to share with you today. I’m wearing denim overalls and although they’re more commonly worn on a farm, I think they’re cool af. They’re also super comfortable! I feel like I’m wearing pyjamas or something. This pair that I’m wearing here are from Free People. Are you starting to tell that I work there? I think my wardrobe is becoming mostly Free People lol. They’re called the “Ziggy Denim Overalls“. I got them in an XS in black. Looking at them on the hanger, I really thought they were going to be too big for me, but they weren’t! It was a pleasant surprise and it just reminded me that I can’t knock anything until I try it.
Underneath these overalls, I wore this blue tie-dyed ribbed long sleeved shirt that’s also from Free People. I thought it added the right amount of colour to the outfit. It’s called the “We The Free Swirl Tee“. It also comes in pink! With overalls, I find them really easy to style because you just need to find an interesting top to wear underneath, then accessorize however you like! And y’all know I love accessorizing ha-ha. Without trying to repeat myself, I just think overalls are a perfect blank canvas to wear that crazy bag, funky earrings, or weird hat! I chose the weird hat for this outfit lol. I mean, it’s not exactly weird but I think most people would stay away from it. And that’s fine by me! I want to be different! This hat that I’m wearing is this fluffy bucket hat that I picked up from that favourite Korean boutique of mine: Durumi (@thedurumi on Instagram) They’re located on Queen St. West and I really want them to make it through this pandemic. If you live in Toronto, I highly recommend this place! You have to check it out if you’re petite like me. They also have a ton of unique accessories for those of you that aren’t. It’s such a cute little spot!
For shoes, I wore these Dr. Marten 1461 oxfords. They’re in a kids size 2. My feet look super tiny in them but I really wanted a pair of oxfords for this season! I want to pair them with trousers and a bunch of fun socks! I wore Mejuri (@mejuri) hoops because I recently got two pairs for every day. I think they’re such a great staple jewelry item. They go with everything and I think they add some sophistication as well. I got a smaller chunky pair and a larger tubular (?) pair? I’m really happy with them! I can rotate between the two depending on the outfit and they won’t tarnish as quickly as most of my other hoops. I’m actually thinking they won’t tarnish at all if I take good care of them! The final piece to this outfit is my bag (the best for last tbh). I think I’ve just gotten used to calling it “my football” at this point so that’s what I’m naming her. It’s the black Lin bag from Nunoo that I talked about it in my last monthly favourites blog post and YouTube video. I’m still loving her and I’m still loving her with every outfit.

I hope you enjoyed my trendy “plouc” outfit! Thank you to those that have recently followed my blog, I appreciate it so much. I hope my writing/content isn’t a disappointment. My plan (since I’m off all next week) is to write some new and interesting content to share within the next two weeks (fingers crossed)! Stay tuned!
Please stay safe and well!
Until next time,
