I don’t know if you guys have noticed (because I think I’m the only that likes these posts lol), but I haven’t done a favourites video or blog post in a REALLY long time. Two months to be exact. Why? I guess life got a little crazy. I was planning my sister’s baby shower and I went back to work at the beginning of August. I was working full-time during the month of August so I found myself being too tired to really focus on anything else. After six months of being at home and doing nothing, it was a huge adjustment to get back into work again. Unfortunately, I’ve gone down to two shifts a week again but now I can get back to stuff like this! The fun stuff! I know I say this every time but I really do think I have a great mix of favourites to share. The only disappointment is that I don’t have a book to share this time! I can guarantee that there will be at least one for next month’s favourites though, don’t you worry!
Now on to my favourites from the last two months!
Also, like always, here’s a YouTube video where I talk about all of these favourites if you’d prefer to watch that than continue reading!
Apple Watch – I don’t want to be one of those girls, but I really thought I was going to have a hard time warming up to the Apple watch. I only thought this way because I was worried about it clashing with all my outfits! Fortunately, that wasn’t the case! I picked up this strap that I think is so me and goes with everything in my wardrobe. I found it on Etsy and I’ll link the seller for you here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/SimeonDJewelry Now if I thought I was going to have a hard time warming up to it, then why the heck did I buy it? Well since the pandemic started, I’ve changed the way I look at my overall health. I really want to treat my body better because I’ll be honest, before this pandemic I was eating like I was still in college. I was just eating the most unhealthy crap. I was ordering a lot from UberEats and just not conscious of what I was putting into my body or how much exercise I was doing. To be honest, I wasn’t exercising at all. Slowing down and not working (and gaining some weight) really showed me the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I’m definitely not going to be young forever so I better start now!
Free People Sunset Park Cardi – I’ve worn this in a previous outfit post so I won’t say too much about this cardigan. But I will say that it’s probably my favourite cardigan right now! Honestly, it’s the perfect cardigan for the weather right now. The colours scream fall. It’s so cozy. I get compliments on how cozy I look whenever I wear it. It’s just like wearing a blanket! But make it fashion? Or at least appropriate for the public? I got this cardigan from Free People, we no longer have it at our store but it’s definitely still available online! Here’s another link: https://www.freepeople.com/shop/sunset-park-cardi/?color=089&type=REGULAR&quantity=1
Crocheting – I don’t think I’ve talked about this very much on my blog, but I’m trying to recreate that infamous JW Anderson cardigan that Harry Styles wore. I saw a girl on YouTube (Liv Huffman) make it and then get featured in VOGUE magazine and was like, “HELLO?!” I mean, it’s too late for me to be featured in Vogue LOL, but I definitely want to try this! So I’ve been working on it for a couple month’s now and I can confidently say that we’re getting close to the end! I hope it turns out okay so I can share with you the results. (You’ll know it turned out horrendous if I no longer speak of it after today lol)
Nunoo Bags – Are we even surprised at this point? It’s been almost a year and a half since I’ve started talking about these bags and I honestly feel like I mention them every month. Am I getting redundant? Predictable even? I can’t help it! I like what I like, and Nunoo bags are my kryptonite. I have two more additions. One I’ve talked about more than the other. It’s the powder blue bag that I named Pearl. She looks like a clam but I think her real name is Saki. The Nunoo “Saki” bag in powder blue. She’s gorgeous. We love her. She fits more than you’d expect. You can carry her as a crossbody or you can carry her like a clutch. It’s fabulous. The second Nunoo that I’ve been loving is a more recent addition to my Nunoo collection. Her name is Lin. The Nunoo “Lin” bag in black with silver hardware. She’s very chic and she’s what I’ve been using every day recently. She doesn’t have as much room as Saki, but I love that she keeps me in check by only allowing room for my essential essentials ha-ha. If you haven’t checked out Nunoo’s website, here you go: https://nunoo.dk You can thank me later!
Rare Beauty – I did a review on all the products I purchased from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty makeup line, so you can check that out if you’d like to know more of my thoughts! I do want to point out two products that I’ve been wearing the crap out of since purchasing them though. The first is the With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm in the colour Thankful. I absolutely love this lip balm. It’s the perfect wash of colour for every day. It’s the one I’ve been gravitating towards the most lately and I can’t get enough of it. The second is one that I’ve tried to find excuses to wear whenever I can. It’s the Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in Inspire. It’s such a beautiful colour! I love it so much! I never thought I’d love a red as much as I love this. If there’s a chance or any reason for me to wear a red lip, I’m reaching for this one. It’s so lightweight (you forget you’re even wearing it!) and the colour is just the perfect shade of red.
Laneige Lip Mask – Am I the only one that didn’t know lip masks were a thing? This kept popping up for me on the Sephora website so I was like, “Okay, okay I’ll add you to the cart!” Boy, am I ever glad that I did! It’s definitely not a necessity. Lip balm is sufficient. But if you want to treat yourself or give yourself a little bit of “oomph”, I say get this Laneige lip mask. It smells so yummy! I put it on before bed and I wake up with smooth (and kinda plump!) lips. It’s so satisfying! In a way, it makes me feel like my best self. It’s a great pick-me-up!
Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop White Cheddar Puffs – As I said earlier, our girl is trying to be nice to her body. Of course, that college life of eating junk food for breakfast is still kind of there so I’ve had to find healthy alternatives. (I also want to say that I don’t eat these for breakfast by the way lol). These are the perfect replacement for Cheetos. I actually think I might like them better! They taste… real? I can’t think of a better word. They definitely taste better for me! I love them. If I were old me, I could inhale a whole bag in one sitting. New me is trying the whole portion thing or she would too lol. I pick these up at my local No Frills. Surprisingly, No Frills has added a whole new aisle for the healthy food enthusiasts and I’m digging it! If you have any healthy snack recommendations, I would love to read them in the comment section!
The Umbrella Academy on Netflix – A new season of “The Umbrella Academy” came to Netflix last month and I think it’s the fastest I’ve ever completed a season of a show. It’s so good. They are so smart with the way they end their episodes. They know exactly where to end it so that you keep watching. I love their dynamic. Those “siblings” and all their unique special talents are so refreshing. I love their differences and I love that they’re a family. I don’t really know what else to say! It’s just a great show and I love the storyline. It’s not like anything else I’ve watched.
Selling Sunset on Netflix – My roommate and I got so invested in this show. I feel like we went through all 3 seasons in a very short period of time. The drama. Oh boy, the drama!!! These girls are so notorious for causing such unnecessary drama. I felt like I was in high school again lol. I also feel like this is why I don’t have very many girlfriends. Life is too short to not let go of things. That’s all I have to say. If you don’t know what the show is about, it’s about the real estate agents that work at the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles. The company is owned by two men but the rest of the company is women. *Wealthy and beautiful women. After watching this show, I actually considered getting into real estate lol. The commission that these ladies get for selling ONE home is unreal. I would sell one house then leave. I mean, I would like to think that but it’s probably such a great feeling to make that much money that you get hooked and stay. Either way, if you like dramatic reality television, definitely try this show!
Now that concludes two months of favourites! I definitely could have shared more but then we’d be here all day. These are the faves of the faves and I hope you enjoyed reading about them. I can’t wait to share with you my favourite things for the month of October!
I hope you’re all having a great month so far. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian readers! Please stay safe and well!
Until next time,
– Tiny ❤
