Skincare Review: Youth To The People

Hi there! I wanna start this post off by saying I have never done one of these before. I’m trying my best to give you my opinion (which isn’t the right or wrong opinion, just an opinion!) and I hope it can be helpful to some of you! Another thing you must know is that I’m not very experienced when it comes to skincare. I am very fortunate to not have that problematic of skin. Like everyone, I do get pimples. And I would say that my skin type is combination-oily. I have had pretty bad reactions to some products so I think it’s safe to also say that I have sensitive skin as well.

I won the Youth To The PeopleThe Youth Minis Kit” at work way back in March, and I posted it on my Instagram story asking if you guys would like a review of the products. Most of you said yes, so here I am! I did record a YouTube video to go with this blog post so if you would prefer to watch a video instead of reading the rest of this post, I’ll leave the link here:

Like I said, I got this kit in March and I thought about reviewing them right away (like after two weeks). But then I thought that they’re only minis and therefore it probably won’t take long to go through them, so why not wait to review them after they’re empty? LITTLE DID I KNOW that it would actually take THREE MONTHS to go through them! Not complaining but I definitely didn’t mean to keep you guys waiting this long (tbh it’s like 6 or 7 months now, I’m sorry lol). I’m such a newbie when it comes to skincare that I didn’t realize how a little goes a long way with most skincare products. I’m glad I used them all up though because I’m more confident in sharing my thoughts.

So here’s what’s in the kit and what I’ll be reviewing today!

YTTPKale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser

YTTPMaqui + Açai Prickly Pear Goji Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil

YTTPSuperfood Air-whip Moisture Cream

YTTPAdaptogen Moisture Cream

YTTP – Superberry Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask

Before I continue, I do want to say that all of their products are amazing. I liked some more than others. I have already repurchased the full-size jar of one of these products from this kit. What I really want to say is that overall they are clean, sustainable, and vegan products. I think that that itself says great things about their brand. There’s a bit of relief knowing that there aren’t any or as many bad things in these products as there are in most skincare products. The box says that they’re free of: parabens, sulfates, phthalates, pegs, mineral oil, silicones, and artificial colours! If this is something of value to you, I highly recommend that you check out their website: http://www.youthtothepeople.com! They are also sold at Sephora so you can check there as well.

Now let’s talk about the products!

YTTPKale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser

This cleanser didn’t “wow” me, I’ll be honest about that. I think the only reason I’d repurchase this cleanser is if I was adamant on having a cleanser in my routine that’s clean, sustainable, and vegan. These are amazing things, don’t get me wrong! But I needed to use this cleanser 2 to 3 times to feel like my face was fully clean. Maybe I wasn’t using it right (I honestly don’t doubt it). I probably should use some kind of makeup remover before using a cleanser but that’s what I mean. I typically look for a cleanser that’s really going to CLEAN my face. I don’t want a bunch of steps. I get tired and lazy most nights before bed so I need something quick and easy, but will still do the job. This cleanser was unfortunately, not it.

YTTPMaqui + Açai Prickly Pear Goji Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil

I’ve never tried an oil before! I think the reason I’ve kind of stayed away from them is because my skin generally produces enough oil that I don’t think anymore oil is necessary lol. I did give this a try though. I found it really sticky. When I first tried it, I was a little put off by it. I really want to say I saw glow-y-ness but I don’t even know if I did. It was really fun to try but I don’t think it’s something I care enough about to keep in my routine.

YTTPSuperfood Air-whip Moisture Cream

All of the moisturizers impressed me. They definitely exceeded my expectations. If I were to repurchase a certain type of product from Youth To The People, it’d be 100% their moisturizers. The Superfood Air-whip Moisture Cream is the moisturizer that they recommended using during the daytime. It’s very light but still hydrating. I absolutely loved it. It made my skin feel great underneath makeup. Even for days where I didn’t want to wear makeup, putting on this moisturizer gave me confidence and not a lot of moisturizers do that! Also, the hydration definitely left me feeling glow-y.

YTTPAdaptogen Deep Moisture Cream

This is much like the daytime moisturizer except that it’s meant for the nighttime. Again, no complaints. A great moisturizer. It didn’t “wow” me but it got the job done. Like the cleanser, I would maybe think a bit more about this one. I would only go back to it and use it for the clean and healthy ingredients. Those of you that are healthy and clean are probably thinking I’m an absolute idiot for not prioritizing this and I’m sorry! I just love that “wow” factor/feeling and this one didn’t give me that.

YTTP – Superberry Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask

THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING. No exaggeration here, folks! I am honestly obsessed with this mask. I also have to admit that I treat it more like a nighttime moisturizer so the Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream didn’t stand a chance. I currently own the full-size jar of this one. It was a no-brainer for me that I needed to keep this product in my routine/life. It does exactly what the name says. When I wake up, I feel as if I am looking at the skin of a newborn baby – no joke! My skin looks so hydrated, so soft, and it’s actually glowing! I cannot recommend or say enough good things about this product. I think you guys need to go pick this up right now.

All in all, I think these were all great for my skin. I didn’t have any bad reactions. I think they left my skin healthy, glow-y, and hydrated (ESPECIALLY the Superberry Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask!!!). Again, these are just my thoughts and opinions. What do I know? The best way to find out is to try them yourself! I definitely encourage you guys to check out their website if you want to learn more about the Youth To The People brand. “The Youth Minis Kit” is a great way to try a little bit of everything without committing or paying the price of a full-size container. It’s sold at Sephora for $59 CAD!

I hope you enjoyed this review! If you would like me to review some other products, I would be happy to if you want to leave them in the comment section below. If you have anything to add that’s unrelated to a review, I’m also always open to new suggestions/blog post ideas!

Hope you’re all having a great weekend! (It’s raining so I’m going to finish reading my book ;))
