I feel like these are so last year (baha-ha), but here they are! I loved a lot of “cool” things in December. I already have a list going for January. But let’s not get ahead ourselves and first cover last month’s faves, shall we?
Ariana-inspired “A” necklace: First, go watch the “Thank U, Next” music video if you haven’t already. Then tell me you love it, and then tell me how CUUUTE the “A” necklace is that she’s wearing in the Mean Girls clips. It’s so similar to Regina George’s in the original movie, just not an “R” lol. I had to have it. It was so hard for me to find but I searched and searched on Etsy for something similar, and then I found one that looks the EXACT same! I can’t say that this one won’t tarnish eventually, but I plan to wear the crap out of it before it does!
Thank U, Next: I think I listened to this song on a loop all throughout the month of December. Then I was constantly listening to “Imagine”, and now it’s “7 Rings”! The obsession with Ariana is real, folks! I would absolutely diiieeee to see her in concert. I know she’s going to be here in June (my birthday month!) and I am kicking myself for not looking further into it. I should have found a way to get tickets :((
Film photography/camera: I got a siiick camera last month (Canon camera in the photo). I got it for $50 on an app called “Carousell”. She was a photographer who got it from her mom, who got it in New York. I’m still waiting for my film to develop but I have a feeling that this seller took good care of this camera! Therefore, I think my photos should turn out okay? My only concern is that the lighting might not have been as great because the camera doesn’t have a flash.. but I guess I’ll worry about that after I get the photos back. Since I’m so into film photography now, I want to be able to incorporate film photos into my blog and stuff! I saw this one blog post (I think it was on Man Repeller) where the girl captured all of her shenanigans in one week on film!! I think that would be so interesting and so much fun to do! I’m gonna try it!
APPs: Unfold & Snow: I’ve been playing with a lot of apps because I’ve been posting a lot more on my IG story. For work I’ve been posting newness videos and outfits posts, and it was getting a little boring so I thought I would mix it up! I’ve been loving playing with these apps because there are so many options to choose from and I can really be creative with it (at least more so than before). If you pay attention to my stories, I feel like I’ve been struggling with consistency in terms of layout, filter, etc. because I’ve been having too much fun playing! Unfold is great for layouts/templates. They have this ripped paper series where I just plop my photos/videos and add some text, then voila!! I think it looks so cute, like a scrapbook! I use Snow for videos mostly. They have great filters/frames, especially the ones where you wanna make it look like you recorded it from some kind of old video camera.
Sparkly purse: This bad boy brings me back to the late 90s or early 2000s and I luuuv it. It’s from TOPSHOP (duh). And the only grief that it has given me is the fact that it snags on some sweaters if I’m not too careful, BUT IT’S WORTH IT. It’s so cute and I love how flashy/sparkly it is. I think we sold out of this at work but honestly, look at it!Does that surprise you? *heart eyes*
“For One More Day” by Mitch Albom: I met this book in the Philippines. It was on display at a restaurant where we had breakfast. The restaurant was called “Yolk“. It was such a good book. I was prepared to cry but surprisingly didn’t. It teaches you a lot about life and relationships, especially the relationship with your family. Don’t take them for granted and cherish every moment with them because you don’t know when it’s going to be the last.
Toronto Raptors/Basketball: My uncles and grandpa watched a lot of basketball while I was in the Philippines. My boyfriend also watches a lot of basketball. I feel like it was just natural for me to pick it up and get a little obsessed. I watched a lottttt of Raptors games during the month of December. I’m also finding myself even watching other NBA teams!! I don’t know what’s happening to me but I enjoy it a lot. I think it’s really exciting to watch, and you don’t know what’s going to happen because the odds are never the same! It’s also fun to have favourites and to cheer them on and hope they do well!
Milk Bronzer: I was on the hunt for a new bronzer because the bronzer I use is NYC’s “Sunny” bronzer that I cannot seem to find in Toronto. Lol don’t judge me, I know it’s such a cheap drugstore brand. I usually stock up on it when I go home because it’s like $4 at Walmart lol, but I haven’t been home in a really long time. (And no, they do not carry it in the Walmarts here in Toronto.) This creamy bronzer stick by Milk is amazing. Definitely wasn’t $4 but I would buy it again! It kind of contours my face for me (because I’m too nervous to get an actual contour stick) and I think I see a good difference? I also wore a lot of SPF on my face while I was in the Philippines so my face is a lot lighter than my body. This bronzer has helped me a lot with evening it all out. I hope it will last me a while. I’m not 100% sure because I’ve never used anything in a stick form before. If you guys have any information on creamy bronzer sticks and their life expectancy, please let me know!
Fenty Lipgloss in shade “Fu$$y”: I got this guy the day it came out. I have always wanted a lipgloss from Rihanna’s makeup line but I didn’t think any of the shades really suited me. Fu$$y though, she suits me PERFECTLY. I love the colour. It’s that “my lips but better” kind of shade but she also adds that “I feel like a boss ass bitch” feeling that I love, ya know?!
M.A.C. Setting/Finishing Spray: I always had my eyes on a setting spray. It was mainly because I was afraid that my makeup was transferring onto people’s clothes whenever I went for a hug lol. Does setting spray even help that? I particularly had my heart set on Urban Decay’s “All Nighter” setting spray but I came across a pretty good sale at M.A.C. I decided to give it a shot. I’ve been using it every day since I bought it, and I love it! I love the finish it gives and I love how my skin looks more polished/glow-y. I now feel naked if I forget to use it!! I highly recommend this product. I had a few concerns about it breaking me out but it didn’t. There really isn’t anything negative that I have to say, so that’s a really good sign!
That’s everything I loved in the month of December of last year. Is it weird reading that, or is it just me? Soon I’ll have my January Favourites up, and then what?! I need recommendations! I need blog post ideas! If you have anything that you’d like me to talk about or share with you, please let me know in the comment section!
Until next time,
– Tiny ❤
