“So like, what is it that you actually do?” – literally everyone after I tell them that I’m a personal shopper.
It’s definitely not a common job. I think there are a lot of people in my family that still don’t quite understand what I do for a living, and that’s okay! This blog post is hopefully going to explain what personal shopping is and what it is that I do as a personal shopper. This will also hopefully encourage people to actually use the service! I don’t know about other brands but at TOPSHOP TOPMAN, it’s FREE! (So make a bloody appointment with me, ok?!!)
WHAT IS PERSONAL SHOPPING?
At TOPSHOP TOPMAN, it’s a complimentary service that allows you to work closely with a personal shopper/stylist (me). This is meant to relieve you of any stress when it comes to shopping or knowing what to wear for whatever occasion. It’s in a separate room from the store. There are comfy couches for your shopping partner(s). We have water, treats, and magazines to keep them busy while you’re trying on clothes. We also have two big and beautiful suites/changing rooms where you can dress/change comfortably.
Those who are clients of our personal shopping service get access to special offers/perks! I e-mail about offers almost all the time and they’re EXCLUSIVELY for people that shop with me/are on my client list!
Usually, those who shop with me come with a purpose. I have a ton of clients that have scheduled appointments for their birthday, a wedding, engagement shoots, vacations/trips, first dates, back-to-school wardrobes, seasonal wardrobe updates, etc.!
My job is to get to know you and your personal style. Then I find the perfect pieces for whatever occasion you need them for! It’s pretty fun and I love getting to know new people. You learn so many different things and I know it sounds corny, but I LOVE when a client finds a piece that they love! It makes me so happy to see other people happy and satisfied with what I’ve chosen for them. It’s honestly the best.
So that’s my job and what I do! If you guys have further questions, feel free to ask me! I really wish more people were aware of the service and the fact that it’s FREE! There isn’t a minimum spend and there aren’t any fees to use the service. It’s not for rich people lol. It’s for everyone!
